Hey, Mrs. Buzz wanted to see the singing portion of the show, so we fast forwarded through the first hour to see both Jennifer and Katharine sing a couple of times...very nice. I couldn't help but think about two more former Idols doing well and not having the stigma of Idol affect them. You know I was envisioning Haley doing something along these lines...a TV show with singing.

Did anyone catch "Smash" last night? Check out this jaw-dropping performance of "They Just Keep Moving The line" sung by Megan Hilty..this girl can sing...incredible...she stole the show.

Wow, that smash is kind of a cool show if it has that type of music on it. I guess i'll get a season pass for the series on my DVR and see if i can get into it.

With Smash's new Saturday night time slot and Debra Messing leaving for CBS, things aren't looking to good for the musical-drama.
But finally it looks like there might be a bit of a silver lining for fans of the show!
Rumors began swirling that Katharine McPhee might also be on her way out, a move that would most likely be the last nail in the coffin for the dying series. One source even went so far as to say:
"She knows it was a failure and she doesn't want her name linked to it, because nothing she has done has been a big hit. She wanted to break through and be a big star by the time she was 30."
Talk about harsh!!
Well now Katharine's reps are finally speaking out and saying those reports are a load of bull poop! The former American Idol star is sticking with the show until the end!
This has really been the first good news we've heard for Smash in a long time, and although NBC has yet to cancel the show, the future still looks pretty bleak.
It's great to see Katharine showing some loyalty, but unless she's able to get a ton of viewers to start watching on Saturday nights, they will probably be getting the axe soon!

While not on the subject of Smash, it's nice to see that something good is happening for Crystal (other than "Farmer's Daughter" doing rather well in sales when it was released.) It's somewhat ironic though. I don't think Crystal sees herself as a country music singer, and with the exception of the sad message in "Farmer's Daughter" that would lend itself to the country audience, I don't see/hear her as a country singer. However, if country fans wish to embrace and support her, then more power to her and them. She's far too talented to let that talent lie fallow under some rock (or cloud or...) That she lost to Lee is likely the worst travesty on AI that ever happened. (As horrifying as Haley losing to Lauren and Scotty was, this was even nastier.)
