I couldn't help but think that our fine HF.com contributors here may be more motivated to have that private party now with Haley. We have talked about the Haleypalooza in Wheeling with our host Himm2. He may not have a baby grand in the back yard, but he does have a replica of the baseball stadium. Nothing says Halien fun better than Beer, Brats and Da Bears with the Queen herself.

Great experience and thanks for sharing all the details. I love hearing about others who have caught the Haley-bug; it makes my obsession feel more ok. Like the other Halien's I am very jealous of your experience but it was well earned. It sounds like a great way for her to earn some money, sing live, have a great time and who knows...maybe it planted a seed that will grow into something more. What do you think were the favorites of the night?

Her covers got the best reaction for obvious reasons (those who don't know her, know the song and can appreciate what she does with them)...she was very playful which enhanced the performance.

(If you weren't aware, the piano Keith used, is one of those that you can program to play on it's own...when Haley first entered she was happily surprised that they were playing Beatles tunes on it....also, after the show, someone in the crowd yelled to Keith, "That Piano has NEVER been played like that" to which Keith beamed a smile of appreciation)

The hosts had two big and friendly dogs that managed to get out and sniff around the area. One time, one of them started making his way to where Haley and Keith were performing, and in mid lyric, Haley sang "doggiee..." LOL

I admit "Undone" is not tops in my list. I loved it when it first came out, but I can also see how some aspects of the song are unrelateable (to me, anyway) and lost some of it's freshness. I didn't expect that she would sing it but was pleasantly surprised when she did. As you might expect she added and played with the tune, when she sang "Undone" near the end, it wasn't like a 'wail', but a softer, sadder interpretation. So that brought a freshness to my ear.

I wanted to suggest "Now That You're Here" (IMO the song that Haley and Keith are magical together on), but again, not my thing to be 'over reaching'....

I guess BATJ was the best combination of performance, crowd participation, and on top of that there was Keith being challenged in mid song to do the solo "I love to put him on the spot"

Well, Tusk (or is it Anthony ), I'm very glad you were invited to this private shindig and, as usual, have shared with us -- in this case, to the degree that you could. I'm sooo glad that the hosts saw fit to fly Keith to accompany her. Finally, I'm glad that you found the opportunity to make a plug for a Haley visit to the PNW. (However, if that's going to be a beach concert [while I enjoy the sound of waves, might that not interfere with music], we're still in for a bit of a wait, or everyone's going to be chilled to the bone!)

So, besides a possible connect in Europe, what's next for in your amazing Haley adventure?

What an unbelievable encounter, Tusk aka Anthony. I almost have to pinch myself from reading your adventure. I like hearing the stories of how Haley’s devoted fans discovered her and also realizing they do come from all walks of life, a testament to her appeal. You sure have met quite a few of them. This private gathering convinces me more than ever that she is and will enjoy tremendous success.

It appears the hosts chose their quests wisely. I am glad your dedication to spreading Haley’s music and being such a loyal and inspired fan resulted in you're being asked to attend with their friends. Haley performed a nice collection of her music and well known covers to introduce her incredible talent and win over new fans. I’m pleased that Keith was there because Haley and Keith interact so well together and have such great chemistry. I love “Undone” and I hope to hear her different interpretation of it someday.

Thnx guys, it's all about spreading the word about Haley (and Keith). Pure talent, and such genuine people combined with hard work and dedication, they deserve... no, we and the world deserve to hear them.

So much cookie cutter and vapid personalities nowadays, the quality people like Haley and Keith bring is irrisistable and needs to be shared.

(Still wish I could record, even now, the memories are fading into dreams...dam my willingness to lose a few brain cells in my youth, but when you have to listen to the constant over thinking in my head...maybe I thought I could spare a few LOL )

I see on Twitter that my question to Haley about her visiting the UK because I'll be in France and want to see her in England has morphed into

The game of "Telephone" has evolved into the 21st century LOL
(the Telephone game is kind of a way to explain how facts and details change when being passed on...the more times the info gets passed on, the more the facts change until at the end, the resulting info doesn't resemble the original message)

I think Himm2 is right that getting a Haley performance through her booking agent (and don't forget, she is under contract which is possibly limiting as far as where/when and what she performs) is unlikely...think about the resources that's probably available to my hosts last night, and even then, it took 4 months, so gathering a collection' (in addition to the travel and lodging) is unrealistic.

As much of a people person Haley is, it is still 'business' and there are things beyond our/her control and outside of our understanding of how things work...

Add to that, organising it freely, on the internet, there is no possible way we can determine the number of people that want to come, not to mention that all (30? 100? 200?...etc) attendees would want their own time with Haley. And that will all be on Haley, it would be on her to meet and greet every single one of them...on her time.... (how long and exhausting would that take?)

Everyone will have their expectation of how much time they 'deserve' with Haley, after all they spent the effort and money to get there, right?

So some kind of control has to be in place (security) if you want to look at it, realistically... It may be fun and no big deal for us, but for Haley? as much as she loves her fans? With an unknown number of attendees? A pretty daunting and probably exhausting potential.

I don't want to discourage a HF gathering (with the potential of attendance by Haley and her family), but if this has ANY possibillity of occuring, it would be a disservice to all involved, to not look at it on a more 'realistic' level.

I think Himm2 is on the right track about having it occur during some other type of event so that there can be other entertainment for antendees to enjoy, so that the HF gathenig isn't the sole and only reason to go (making expectations higher).... and if Haley and her Family are OK with spending the necessary time to meet all who come, we might have to forego a performance. (a performance coupled with meet and greet and mingle wold take a bunch of time)

We would want this to be a fun event for the Reinharts too, and not a duty.

All JMO, take it how you want, but in this day and age of far reaching social media, many of these things, if not more, should be taken into account.

This was also discussed last night, but ultimately, in 'the business' world, there are dances that need dancing, 'T''s that need to be crossed, and contract experts whose job is to do what's best for the company and the artist.

I know of some that want to help badly, even if it means payrolling the artist. Problem is, when we talk about the amount of money that takes, sometimes it results in a feeling that something is 'owed' to the provider, even if they say that it isn't. It's human nature, if you are to invest that kind of money, eventually, someone will feel like there's obligation, whether it's verbalised or not, regardless of how altruistic your intentions are....it's human nature.

That's why contracts exist, the emotion is removed and there is clear deliniation of what is expected and what is provided.

In the smaller scale, lending someone $100 doesn't really mean much. When you talk about tens of thousands of dollars, maybe hundreds of thousands of dollars...then suddenly things are 'on the line'... some kind of 'return' will eventually be expected. It's human nature.

Maybe, I'm assuming incorrectly, but I have to think these business people are successful by making decisions that are more sound than to invest in an entertainer...especially in the climate the music business finds itself, and not to forget the losses due to piracy and illegal downloading as well as the legal hassles of protecting your intellectual property.... It's just not 'a sure bet', no matter how much you believe in the artist.

Over the years, the recording industry has seen a steep decline in profits and profitability for numerous reasons...these business people did not become successful by investing in an ailing industry that has seen better days.

DAMN. I can't lay out a short explanation .. only less long "thoughts'

- charity works, business works. a muddle in between isn't good at either.
- poor contracts could actually impede future opportunities clouding control of assets.
- Promotion is as much about experts using their expertise and connections to push their favorites, than about their hard money investment. They can only get so much of the pie of air play as record companies and events need established artists to create the big buzz and maintain audience and some new artist spots need to go to other companies. Getting them to Invest their TIME and EFFORT is critical... without their commitment music that cost them nothng to make still doesn't go anywhere.
- Some types of "charity" help can still do wonders for peoples careers. In some, that is direct money contributions: few people going around to freinds and say.. this kid really needs tuition to this conservatory.. I'll put in 10k how about you do the same ? I had a close relative raise money for a concert quality violin for a kid of similar ancestry that needed a six figure instrument for the incremental sound quality to be a top-list soloist with a sound up to his award recognized skills
- Haley has gotten great music recorded , some unreleased and new ones on the way. She needs help more on the demand side than the investment in product side.. she certainly doesn't need a voice and thats her main product.
- Financial help is still important - Star quality clothing, costs thousands per outfit (rockers can get away with less maybe but Adam Levine's ripped t-shirts are probably 600$ a piece because, believe it or not, that fatiqued look and a fit that flatters his body probably isn't someting anyone could pull off. Frequent trips to top hair stylists are necessary. We're talking frequent salon bills that are a few hundred dollars easily.
- that financial help is probably provide best by finding her events that pay healthy appearance fee's and footing the bill behind the scenes - indirrectly.
- financial help through lending of use private planes etc would let her and band members appear at high profile charity events at far flung places in the country that she couldn't pull off financially otherwise.
- publicity by making her familiar to highest tier decision makers and producers is something well connected(and rich) people can pull off. Many of them attend 10k a plate political and charitable dinners regularly- large balls for pet cause lie "doctors without borders" etc. with types radio station owners and directors etc there. They often have some sort of program where a singer is used to define starts of things etc. Haley has been getting these sorts of invites, and showcases how good she is at them. (like I said before too, a person making a 50k donation can easily ask that Haley be the performer and maybe donate 55k and tell them to pay her a 5k appearance fee or something)

Of course its not just peole with money - money is one effective resourse to help but others do to:
- kids keep twittering.. that's a different side of the same coin
- connections aren't just financial... a contractor with a big lighting contract at a stadium can drop off a burned dvd with a yellow sticky to saying she sings the anthem great etc.
- Miguel is helping incrementally with this site - amateurs covering her songs help too I guess.

All that is being done already.. not an idea from me at all. But it is always good to encourage more of it I guess.

It is not in my nature to be jealous. I get a vicarious thrill when reading about the good fortune of others. You certainly earned you invitation to this event, Tusk. Thanks for suggesting that Haley come to the PNW. An unpublished event such as this afforded you the opportunity to enjoy Haley sans video camera... May the Halien stars continue to shine their lights on you & all dedicated Haley fans for years to come!!
