Welcome urbansage! I've seen your name around twitterdom in the past. We've had some long time haliens joining up lately. So glad to have you here! The more the merrier.

Here's one of the few vids I took from the crowd that is salvageable, you can hear the ambient crowd noise is significantly less from that vantage. Near the end, on Casey's face you can see some of the blotching from the stage lights on my camera that ruined a lot of my Haley footage

^^^ I think Casey likes to put Haley on the spot with his spontaneity. And she is a quick study, as someone else mentioned here earlier. Cool to watch these 2 together. so much creativity at work here.

As I said, this vid and the Sound Check were the only one's not affected significantly by the 'bloctching'. This one, I moved to another spot, stage right, which might be a reason the video isn't as distorted until near the end, on Casey.

I'm almost thinking I should post them anyway, since I have them, the audio is good, bass was never a problem, which was good because there was a bunch of pre show socializing with other Haliens, I didn't really have a chance to test out if the bass was going to affect the audio.

Also, the opening act was a 'DJ'/Dance music.... so there was obviously ALOT of OTT Bass Heavy sounds and distortions that wouldn't happen in a Haley/Casey show...so it wouldn't be a good thing to use as a gauge for the bass for Haley's set...

I know this week is going to be particularly busy for Keith with the mixtape release and the Vegas shows among other things, but I'm really excited for him. I hope he's able to come to LA before I finish school in September, but that might be a stretch.

As far as Haley goes, the chemistry they have is pretty potent and I've only seen them play together once in person. Their ability to improvise keeps them on the same page though and they have a similar feel for what they're doing up there. Plus them being the same age helps a lot with the comfort level.

This concert has me absolutely dying for a joint project between Haley and Casey. I don't care how or when it happens as long as I get to hear it before I die. The way they play off of each other is great (obviously). And do my ears deceive me or did their harmonies get better?

And someone mentioned Haley's apparent confusion during the Flintstone's theme. She really didn't know what was going to happen. No idea whatsoever. He said they were going to do some Jazz and she was thrown completely into the abyss.

Couldn't agree with you more about the Haley/Keith musical connection. Although different than what she has with Casey, there are parallels. I've said before and I'll say it again: I'd love to hear a Haley/Casey/Keith set of jazz. I think it would be pretty amazing!

I also agree with the Caley joint project idea and welcome any ideas that we can do to promote such a collaboration. And no, I do not believe your ears deceived you in regards to their harmonies.

I believe it was me who broached the "Flintstones" performance at CityWalk. I didn't mean to imply that Haley was confused at all. In the slightly over 2 years that I've been watching Haley perform (not in person , mind you), she always seems to be in charge when on stage. This was the first time I haven't seen that. If anyone was confused, it was probably me. It's understandable that she needed to listen to it a bit, to grasp what was going on. That rapid walking bass line that Casey is laying down ensures that it's not the Flintstones theme we all grew up hearing. She did fine, when she got the chance to do a scat solo. (In the beginning, I think she thought she and Casey would "trade fours" or twos -- or nines [ not really!], but he wasn't yielding for that to happen, so she then took some time to listen and clue in to what was going on. But she's a quick study!)

A Haley/Casey/Keith jazz set would be amazing. No telling where that would go.

As far as the joint project, I probably should've said something to Casey's mom when we spoke just before the show started. Just to ask her about it given her fondness of Haley as a person and artist and her relationship with Casey (they're best friends).

Oh no. She was confused and you could see it, but it passed quickly. The tempo and where Casey was going to throw it to her seemed to be the toughest part, but with those two especially, those things work themselves out.

Nice job with that video.I'm impressed with Casey's saxophone player-he can cover a lot of different bases from what I've heard and it gives Casey a distinctive sound to his group.

Haley did just fine here.Unless you do that sort of thing all the time its not easy with the tempo flying by like that but her instincts served her well.And its not like we didn't know it before but Casey is a certified mad man and I say that in the best possible way.
