YES TUSK ! THANK YOU ! this is where it all should end....

On top of that, I'm taking significant work time off for these trips, I'll have to catch up later. So no way I can do all this in the time period, so I elected to just put up the video with it's accompanying audio....
OH NO

You're being so generous in sharing that any stress you're having is stressing me out !
I'm shaking my head at some of these things REALIZING that I am sort of screwing up big time...
.... sounding way too critical when my goal
my goal spending time on these forums is DISCOVERY.
I'm trying to Discover more about music,
I'm trying to Discover, in particular, WHY EXactly I hear something so incredible in Haley
..... something sort of entrancing and uplifting in the way she phrases things!
I'm Picking things apart... and I know (especially when I fumble) it must come off as sort of self-aggrandizing (perhaps that's personality fault I inadvertently fall into)....
... but my intent is to really figure out some things about music and the mind and taste etc,
Using this forum... where I've got this artist(Haley) that just has me thinking so much when she hits a homer.
Now.. its probably heresy to say that they're not all homers.....
But.. while the "on-base percentage" is close to 1000. I'm this greedy mo-fo that wants Homers... I want GRAND SLAMS
I'm sitting here picking things apart ... wanting for Penant winning Grand Slams...
.... and in the process I might come off too critical in essentially saying
"that's just not good enough play for a penant winning grand slam"
I've been watching all these other TV SINGING shows tryign to figure out what unifying things that just lift me to another level in music which Haley seems to tap into.
Anyway THIS is getting long again.

In this video, there was significant ambient audience chatter, distractingly so, so I finally attempted my first sound edit and dubbing (lining up the different audio to other video)... My audio has a little chatter, but not near as significant as the original audio.
I also 'cleaned' it a little. Not being an expert or adept in this kind of thing, I'm sure there are some issues that someone more adept can pick up. That being said, I'm pretty happy with the result.
I am HAPPY with ALL of your results Tusk!
Edison ... what was it.. about not failing, but ~"finding 1000 ways not to make a lightbulb"~
The way I look at it, there is a big degree in luck at what works and what doesn't ... like you said, you can learn a lot more.. but
you guys aren't sitting there in a Mixing booth. You can't even put your equipment on a tripod etc. Each venue is going to have different accoustics and different speaker set ups and volume and different crowd noise.
LIGHTBULB -- I just got something I was looking for and
I wouldn't have figured out what I wanted to
without mutiple recordings to compare and get me thinking.
WHEN I Say I like one more than another.. that is just post mortem-ing the thing...
.... I really mean it more as part of MY Easter Egg Hunt to unwind this mystery of what the something special is dividing the things that move me and don't and... A pondering outloud.. What can happen
... MY HOPE (to do a smidgen of good for Haley)is that, I might trigger some ideas in other people here, and once you (sweeping you.. not sure which of you) discard 95% of what I say as irrelevant and 5% interesting but with rough edges.... that my head scratching might trigger a truly useful idea or plan with someone who knows more than me and might somehow spur an action that helps her out to get one extra door opened.. or gets a shot at a different brass ring that provides the "penant winning grand slam(s!)" we can't get enough of !
(and yes, then we can dance and enjoy the "guilty pleasure" of pointing out to others our "I told you so's" ... the dark side of the force runs deep jedi

)
I haven't been doing crap beyond scratching my head by talking out loud
Thank you and others always.
And I hope (and I'll try to so inspire) what might be considered nitpicking as really more a personal contemplation and attempt to unwind some secret.
AND this is TOO long... BUT I think I figured out an important Piece of this puzzle I have.
The combination of Sound compression, and it's effect on reducing the Rhythmic tools Haley (and Casey, and say Irvin Mayfield's pianist, and etc) uses to mesmerize.
Here is a HINT at what I've put 2 and 2 on ..but i
ts going to take a hell of a lot of video clipping to really show where I'm going. I'll try to work, rather than jabber for a week or two
Basically, if something doesn't have this grace an precision with 16th notes.. intertwined with triplets and doubletime sequences and signature overlays like 12-8 in Tom22's world the music sucks(that was hyperbole

on purpose)
Well. it isn't exactly always the 12/8 and not always Purdie.. but I think no matter what the genre there are overlying poly rhythms that trend through on longer time fragments than the meter in the measure and how a musician, emphasizes the accentuation of the patterns set up bars before is what makes things extra ..
If the noise gets compressed. when someone sings "you" its nolonger a sixteenth note "eeee" smacked hard, with a softer "ooo" .. you don't have the rim smack followed by the drum hit.. The Rythym..accentuated by the volume variation from attack to sustained note.. is a vital part of what makes the performance/music
That down-stroke on the violin isn't as different in statement and theme reiteration and ironic counter-play than an upstroke if the ends of the sound wave are cut off .
And, in those "microscopic" variations, is the _sublime_ thing I'm on a voyage to both hear .. and know.
I'm going to look at the sound signatures of the different ones.. again I know i'm reinventing the wheel, but maybe I'll figure out a way to visualize it for myself and others.
* Of course Bernardie Purdie isnt' the end all - surely what he brought about was built on the shoulders of others, and similar but different types of "grooves" (Predating "grooves" a western music example might be Allegro and Largo - are far more than a metronome setting or just set tone of note throughout)
He's been on something like 4000 professionally recordings and ... more later
