RE: Haley headlining at Buffalo Grove Days (Illinois) on 8-31-13
I think the festival makes money as it has sponsors, runs five days and has been an annual event for 55 years.
I found the story about the golf cart when I did a search to look up past headliners. Not much info out there, but I think most of them were local acts. But in 2006, they had Foghat.
I don't know how much the BGD's appearance fee might be, but the Reinhart family wouldn't be incurring travel costs. So they might be able to add Casey and one or two others from afar. Advance planning would help, obviously, so Casey could plan for other events nearby at the same time. He was in the area less than two weeks before the event this year.

Actually, Casey appears in Illinois fairly frequently. I don't know if it's the Haley connection or that he/his family seemed to live there at some point/does it really matter?
But you make an interesting point, Miguel. In real dollars, it might not take too much more to add Casey (and Jacob) but think about how that show exponentially grows -- and, thus, some real added dollars to BG Days.
