One of Haley's unreleased tracks is on Christina Grimmie's new album

I think with the right promo, people would love Haley. Haley didn't get the right support.

I will say though, I think Christina brings a different vibe to the song than Haley does. Haley is more retro/R&B pop, where as Christina brings the pop rock singer with the guitar vibe. (Sort of non country version of Taylor Swift.)

But yea..if I like Haley's Beatles cover better, and her Zeppelin cover better, and her Stones cover better, and her Janis cover better..I wasn't going to like Christina's version better.

That's awesome. And with her giving Haley credit, Haley could earn herself a few more new fans.

(Obviously, not by thousands..but if 50 people check out Haley's album because of this..that's always a good thing.)

- It was really nice that she gave that public shout out to Haley(most especially for it's effect on Haley fans)

- Mozilla might have written more than 1/2 the song too.. but, he doesn't have fans that need to be cajoled... can't forget him though.. but it shows that writers really shouldn't expect shout outs.. ( they get the $ instead - and I think fans like to think of their singer singing "their own" songs, which is a marketing reason writers might not traditionally be mentioned)

- 50 More Fans ! haha.. it could be a lot more depending on how much play the song gets etc.. but that idea that 50 more fans is better than 50 less was really 1/2 my point

My take on that is like I said, in business so many final decisions are almost "toss ups" between two equally qualified contractors or job candidates or buy/don't-buy decisions. It's hard to know exactly how much it takes to tip a scale but anything you can put on the winning side helps.

- 50 new fans via christina may have each introducing 50 friends to Haley and listen up , in terms of playing the music .. mentioning her etc

- "staying on the radar" "what has she done lately"(past success means amazingly little in hollywood it the more recent films/albums flopped) are vital .. to invites to industry events and getting a consideration(interviewish) or even inclusion on a longer list of possiblities.

- it's great people are buying the single .. the .99 cents is probably well worth it for us avid Haley fans... even if it doesn't push the song to the top at least it won't fall to the bottom either..

- "It's really cool that Haley fans support her buy buying songs she wrote from other artists" --- that's a nice thing for non Haley fans to think isn't it ? (far better than the opposite!)

That wikipedia page is a very intersting read. The path to sucess can be a tough one . She released 3 albums as a performer .. getting cut from Warner once and Universal once . She performed with some big groups comming up.

She intitially had a job making cakes so she could be free to perform in coffee houses in the evenig

Given her list of commercial song credits and their use in huge exposure things like iTunes commercials and The Biggest loser I'm assuming she's making some big bucks in royalties now.. getting cut from her labels wasn't a recipe to failure. I'll look up if she performs still .. maybe she performs her favorite stuff for smaller crowds and makes the bucks writing songs... best of both worlds maybe?

I just bought GYT for Haley. Christina did well but obviously Haley's will always be the best!! I think her voice is better suited for the song with her raspy growls

I love Haley....have from the first time I saw/heard her. She does great on this song but so does Christina (yeah I didn't expect to think so :p ) I will say that in my opinion, this song is a vocal chord killer. So in a way I am glad that Haley isn't going to hurt her voice on this song but she will get paid! It also seems to me to be more poppy? dance clubby? which I don't think is the direction Haley wants to go with her music. As long as Haley is happy and getting paid I am happy for her. In a perfect world she would be a superstar by now but then y'all probably wouldn't get to enjoy her at the Halien Shindig coming up soon. Food for thought

As someone reminded me on Twitter, she should be given props for attempting the song, raw, with a band, and no backing track. How many pop stars nowadays need the security of a backing track, even to the point of lip syncing to a track.... So that she did it like this is pretty ballsy. (Of course it's Stageit, lip syncing would be weak, but she could have taken it to a lesser extent than she did)

I'll also give her credit for attacking what sounds like a vocally difficult song, head on. I like that she is genuinely giving it an effort to give it the raw interpretation the song deserves, it's just she doesn't have what Haley does naturally within her voice, that warm and natural rasp)

They do need to do something about the background vocals, the guitar player's 'attempt' was barely passable and left a lot to be desired.

As a first, live, run through, I like what she's attempting with it, her interpretation (raw vs pop), so it's a good start. They can work on it to a spit shine by performing it more while tweaking it.

You have no idea how often my Overthinker's mind has reminded me of that. It's extremely conflicting.

If Haley had blown doors open right out of the gate, many of us would not have had the opportunities we've had to meet her, she would be living in an entire different strata of life

So take the opportunities to enjoy these relatively 'intimate' performances while we can
