^^Tusk, I'm not exactly certain what you refer to by her "sublime scatting." But I hope it has less to do with the nonsense syllables themselves and everything to do with the musicality of that improv break, and if so, I heartily agree. I love the syncopation she uses and just the "melodic choices" (for lack of a better phrase to describe it) that she makes.

One of the things that I appreciated about the videos from the Hotel Cafe performance is that I see her giving direction about the tempo. In the past, I've felt a little uncomfortable that others are doing that for her. Yes, that was Courtney's job, and, of course, when it's Casey or her dad, it's so easy to let them take charge. But it's her music, and if she's going to have a band, then she needs to establish who's "queen bee." I like this sign.

You know the real bummer is my audio is soo good, you hear better depth in Haley's voice and growls, the instruments clearer... but that dam bass drum distortion... I wish I knew how to fix it cause it sounds just that much better overall
