Quote:Created by and executive produced by David E. Kelley, The Crazy Ones stars {Robin) Williams as advertising genius Simon Roberts, while (Sarah Michelle) Gellar plays his daughter Sydney, who also happens to be his business partner. Roberts is energetic and outlandish in exactly what you'd expect from the frequently riffing funny man, Williams, while Sydney is a bit more reserved, not always eager to follow along with her fathers lightning-fast line of thinking and goofy behavior. The series premiere has them scrambling to impress their client -- McDonalds -- in an effort not to lose their business, which leads to Roberts promising to delver a pop star to headline the brand's new ad campaign, which is where Kelly Clarkson comes in, playing herself.

Watching this now. Seems pretty good. They start out about to lose the McDonald's account and off-the-cuff pitch redoing a 1972 commercial that has the "You Deserve a Break Today" jingle.

The client agrees if they get a big musical star.

Enter Kelly Clarkson.

Twist is, she wants to redo her image and sing "about sex."

She acquits herself well as an actress.

There's a scene in the pilot where Josh Wolk and Kelly Clarkson are grinding and singing together. Didn't know who to envy TBH. #CrazyOnes

Ah, after the commercial break Kelly agrees to sing the jingle and the show peters out as it seems to quickly come to an end.

I just saw a clip of Kelly singing the "jingle" -- it's cute, but, to me, it's the subtle Sarah who steals the scene for me.

On the other hand, Kelly seems to be ubiquitous right now.
