Ole generates 27 new songs

The recent ole 7th annual pop+urban songcamp, held in association with Roc Nation, focusing on Rihanna and other Roc Nation artists, took place again this year at the historic Westlake Recording Studios in West Hollywood. It produced 27 great songs from the world-class songwriters in attendance, mixture of ole writers, including Haley Reinhart Clare Reynolds and Allison Kaplan, Roc Nation writers and a select group of writers from other publishers. This year, ole also invited the production team of Mynority and Canadian songwriter, Scotty Hills, through ole’s unique songcamp deal agreements

One step closer to a Haley song on the big screen?

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Oct. 9, 2013) - ole, one of the world's foremost rights management companies, has concluded a syndicated financing with 7 U.S. banks to add $135-million in debt capital to ole's capital structure. In its 9th year of operation, ole has made $275-million of equity investments across various classes of intellectual property assets.

While I'm not exactly sure what that means, the numbers are bigger than I would have imagined.

The ole-bluestone Songcamp, held last month at Timbaland’s Thomas Crown Studio complex in Virginia Beach, Virginia, produced 13 cuts from the 10 songwriters in attendance. ole-bluestone is the co-venture struck in the summer between iconic super-producer Timbaland and ole. Participating ole writers included Haley Reinhart, Clare Reynolds, Allison Kaplan and Mynority, who were joined by Virginia songwriters David Bollman, Kelly Bollman, Matt Osborn and Stephen Lee of ReKapse, a group signed to Timbaland’s label, along with top-liner Satasha Torres and producer Velly.

A CNN article about a new biography, "Tune In" coming out about the Beatles, before they became the phenomena.

Though the songs came in handy for their own group, even McCartney and John Lennon were under no illusions that the Beatles would last. Their long-term goal was to simply be songwriters for others, after all.
"When they came to America, the people they most wanted to meet were people like Carole King and Gerry Goffin -- the Brill Building," Covach says. "This was all really about setting up a lifetime of writing songs and being involved in pop culture in a fairly old-school way. It kind of morphed into something else."

Following in their footsteps, after all?
