I love Mozart's operas and many of his concertos

This reminds me, the host told me that he invited a friend who loves classical music, turned his nose up at "American Idol Talent" as music. They got him to the party anyway...

By the end of the night, he approached his host friend full of ideas on what they could do to hire her for a bigger event... Lol He was ready to scoff, but came away with his WTF Haley moment

You know, someone mentioned Lana Del Ray in this thread..and a year later..how she blew up.

I still remember the night that her and Haley were performing on Idol. I remember how much Haley kicked her ass. Seems like Interscope decided to only support one of them, and Haley's the one that came up short.

Funny you should mention Del Rey. As Haley was leaving, someone mentioned the Stageit Show, after which we all started lobbing requests for the show... (lol poor Haley ).... one of the request was some Lana Del Rey. I couldn't hear the whole of Haley's response but I heard something to the effect of, not wanting to cover current artists (royalties/rights or professional courtesy?)... The next day, someone mentioned that they had requested Adele, and Haley politely declined. Made me think of her reply regarding Del Rey, why it didn't' occur to me she couldn't/shouldn't cover contemporaries..

Plus, isn't Del Rey still an Interscope artist?

I want to thank the Haliens that were invited to the private party by the benevolent hosts for sharing the experiences they had with Haley, Harry and Keith through pictures, vines, cell phone videos, tweets and stories. I understand the need to be discreet and I am extremely delighted for the postings we got, more than I expected considering the nature of the event.

The set list was amazing and true to Haley’s eclectic mix of music. I love her originals with “My Cake” being one of my favorites and that funky version snippet sounded incredible. I can believe “Don’t Know Why” with Haley’s incomparable style of phrasing was the best of the night. Speaking of being a dreamer, I am old school and ever since the small portion of Haley singing “Dream a Little Dream of Me” in Malaysia surfaced, I’ve been doing exactly that for a full performance. Since Haley has made it a part of her repertoire, I am hoping she will perform it again in concert.

Even though Haley is not on tour or with a label yet she has been busy performing, writing and staying connected within the music industry. I believe as long as Haley keeps doing what she loves and keeps taking the opportunities that come along the rewards will follow.

I know the initial reaction is to be angry that we aren't included in something, I admit to crashing down from my 'high' when I read some of the tweets and posts about who deserved to be there.... bottom line is sometimes, you have to make concessions if you don't want to face the possibility of complete denial of any information.
How many private events has she done where we heard nothing?

This show we got to hear that she did new covers. Not only Dream a A Little Dream, Don"t Know Why, but also Haley and Harry dueting on the Beatles cover, "If I Fell"....

Also, there was no doubt there were Haley Fans there, (non known Haliens) as they pleaded for "Undone". Before the second set, we got a peek at the set list. It included "Undone". But as she performed the second set, she included, by request, Night & Day, which was not on the set list. As the set was getting near the end, I had a thought, "Oh no, what if Night and Day replaced Undone??"

Luckily she was persuaded to sing it by the crowd, even though she jokingly said, she might cry. Funnier still was a man in the audience started singing "I'm sorry...." which made Haley laugh... she said something like, "wait one more bar, then you can help me"

I appreciate that you've taken the tact of any positive Haley news is better than no Haley news. It encourages when I hear support like what you posted as opposed to the guilt that I was lucky to be invited and others were not.

When I spoke to Harry after the show, he admitted to frustration but wasn't specific. I never push people too far and let them say what they feel comfortable saying, so I didn't ask for elaboration.

Harry's face lightened, though, when he expressed the bright side is, she has been exposed to so much of the song writing process including putting out collaborative writing material. If one of them hit, well, that would be just another step forward.

Sometimes things just take time, and we can't always get what we want.

Tusk, there's no reason to feel guilt in this world unless you take a life or impose pain on another.
If people feel bad about not being invited or not being able to go, surely they will get over it at some point in their lives. Your only (self appointed and much appreciated) job is to tell us and show us everything you can as you're one of the Haliens with the funds and connections to attend most events.

Right Tusk. You do a lot for the Haliens, I've gotten to see so many Haley videos because of you specifically. I'm glad you got to go to this.

Frustration on Harry's part makes me sad though. Hopefully it's frustration because negotiations are going slow, not because there aren't any negotiations.

Harry was shopping at the Wheeling Walmart when I happened to bump into him the night before I left for Florida. We talked about when Haley was there with her CD launch and his frustrations of Walmart & Interscope for releasing the 10 song CD instead of the Deluxe CD that also included 2 of the best songs: Spiderweb and Lets Run Away instead of just having one 14 song package for sale. And then dropping the promotional ball thereafter. I could tell he was also frustrated about how things have dragged along since. I'm not sure he knew I was invited to the private LA gig because he simply said he was leaving to "see" Haley next week. Glad he could accompany Haley & Keith and glad some of our LAliens & our frequent flyer Tusk could give us the feel of being there. Thank You!
