Haley, Casey & company outside Room 5

I think that Casey was having a good time in the venue, and just continued the party outside. I'm not sure why the tip cup was there, unless maybe it was just symbolic. When I saw Casey in Downers Grove last summer, he was hanging out outside every chance he got. He's that type of guy I think. (Makes for a fun evening for fans. )

The tip cup may have been placed out there by someone else (besides Casey), for who knows what reason -- and perhaps ended up serving a totally different purpose, such as beer money.

I wish I knew. Casey's web site doesn't have any coming shows listed. Maybe he's taking a break now. I know Taylor, his guitar player, lives in Colorado, not in LA like Casey, so between gigs must want to touch base at home.

I guarantee you that the man in the video isn't struggling. I seriously doubt $$ had anything to do w/ why Haley & Casey did it either.

So Camden (I hope you don't mind me shortening your ID), I'm guessing that he does this and provides what he collects to a favorite cause. So what's the cause -- or is it a "cause of the day." (The cause of the day for Casey and Haley may have been the young musicians Casey had with him.)

Honestly I haven't heard anything about what he does w/ the money.

The timing on this was so weird cause I'd just read the Haley & Casey busking talk last night & this evening heard the DJ, on the radio, talking about how Michael Rosenberg (Passenger) busked for years to make a living, & even though he's playing these huge concerts now, he refuses to give it up because he just loves doing it so much. He says it's a much more intimate experience w/ the audience & that he likes the experience of having to win people over because a lot of the people at the train station or the park or wherever aren't all already fans of his. Also he says it keeps him grounded & he meets a lot of people doing it.

I think Haley & Casey did it & will probably keep doing it from time to time for some of the same reasons. Plus I think they just like playing music for people... doesn't always have to be some scheduled event. Sometimes it's probably more fun if it's just something spur of the moment for random people on the street. Plus, I think they both want to be thought of as very down to earth (cause they are) not these inaccessible celebrities that think they are too good to do something like this.

Oh btw I don't think it's any big deal if Casey & Haley do make a little money doing this. I don't think it has anything to do w/ why they're doing it though. And you guys are probably right about them letting the other musicians keep all of it anyway.

Yah, as has been the case in recent months, I've gone back and deleted posts that may be a little too long, too 'ranty' for the sake of the blog .

I had to get my frustrations off my chest about how MJ, maybe unintentionally/subliminally marginalizes Haley (referring to her as a Season 9 Idol more than once) as well as allows passive/aggressive trolling remarks about her, but chastises "Stans" for defending their 'snowflakes'.....

BTW, I posted Bonx's reply to Kenny Poo, saying she knows Casey will be recording new music soon, so maybe why he's cleared his coming schedule....

Haha, yeah I looked for it for a while, then I saw Lauraliz's reply & figured you might've deleted it. Hey, everybody loves a good rant plus most of us do it from time to time. TBH I never got in the habit of looking at MJS (too much advertising & other crap on that site). I get most of my Haley news here or on twitter, occasionally at IDF...

Speaking of which. We really need to change that "We are the Lions Rawr" thing. I've never gotten that & I think I actually hate it now. TBH I don't want to use the "Some say we're Dreamin' but we're just Believin' line from Walking on Heaven either, only because Believin' is just a little to close to Beliebin' &... I don't have to explain that do I?

The tagline that just crossed my mind today was:

Takin' It to the Streets

or anything else you guys can come up with.

I'm happy for Casey if he's planning on going into the studio to record some new music. Maybe soon we'll hear what Haley is planning on doing too
