I went through my vids yesterday, still bummed I didn't get more pics/vids. Unless you were following Haley all day, being 'stalkery' (including waiting between shots to set up equipment/scene or for her to exit the trailer with new costuming etc...) there was a bunch of 'down time' which I spent talking with some of the crew, staying out of the desert sun with the other Haliens or hanging out with Casey and his band, so that's probably when I missed some of the shots, like when she was Hula Hooping for the above pic.
There was a lot of activity, if you were caught up in a conversation or doing something to help the crew, there was no signal to let us know that they were beginning another shot/scene
I missed pretty much the entire shot of Haley with Casey on the plane's wing because I was in the trailer being airbrushed for the Haliens scene.
I guess I had it in my mind before I got to the shoot that I wasn't going to be one of those who had a camera up in front of his face the entire time. I resolved that I was going to enjoy and experience this before I left for California. So on the one hand, it sucks that I should've recorded more, but on the other hand, I enjoyed my many interactions that day, including getting to sing with Casey and Jacob for a couple minutes
I did catch 2 1/2 minutes of Haley, and sometimes Casey, hula hooping with Hannah, the young Halien at the shoot, but I'll probably post a clip or two of it on Instagram because the wind was jostling quite a bit, which makes it even more incredible how easily Haley was hula hooping once she adjusted.
Off camera, someone questions her hula ability after she has trouble initially, probably Casey, to which she explains that it's not easy in this wind, then reveals something I didn't know, it's easier when the hula hoop has water in it, after which she adjusted, and at times it looked like the Hoop was orbiting Haley's hips on it's own, with seemingly little effort from her
Hannah had brought some hoops in the hopes that Haley would agree to Hula Hoop with her. I saw in the ride over to the lot that Haley had brought Hula Hoops too, obviously in anticipation of using them in the video. It was probably Haley's Hoop that Haley had a better time hula hooping with.
I will post the entire spontaneous performance by the Gingerbread band of "When the Saints Come Marching In" behind Casey's car, when Haley unexpectantly joins in
(I have two other GBB spontaneous performances, but unlike the one that Haley joins, the wind pretty much wipes out most of the audio, so not even worth posting
)
I'm really hoping I get to see what the other's captured. I may have a total of 20 minutes of vids, mostly short shots of Haley doing a scene or taking direction. One of the others told me that even though it includes some down time, he has 4hrs + including of Haley with Casey on the plane (He was the last to be called in to be made up)
