Haley Reinhart's funky a$$ reality project

I'm all for these forums being bastions of free speech, but they aren't quite that for various reasons. Sometimes a mob mentality can get going that ain't pretty. Usually things run in the rah rah direction, which is okay, although not necessarily a reflection of broad feelings or objective reality. Personally, I have no problem with anything anybody has said here and it will all soon be buried in the recesses of the thread anyway. (I don't intend to mean that I agree with all that has been said.)

I wonder if Haley got caught up in the spirit of the moment with friends and associates who were enthusiastic about this video project. This might have been one that Haley got talked into by persons who are sincere and well meaning (hopefully), but who also see Haley's recognition and fan base as a means to gin up some cash. In their case her song is just a vehicle that allows them to do their own thing(s).

I agree she needs to be more active in promoting her project even if it is something she sees as being "on the side." The fund raising doldrums have arrived and while there may be a burst toward the end, Haley needs to generate attention and good will along the way or the funding will fall far short of her goal. If she doesn't put some meaningful effort into it, the whole thing could become a big mistake and a source of lingering resentment for some. She took a risk on this and regardless of how it does financially and artistically she needs to own the decision and show some commitment to it. She may feel she is as she hand writes copies of lyrics, but is not visible.

Right, and she has a while before the campaign ends. At the end of the day, it's like I said..trust Haley and enjoy the ride.

As someone who has been part of fund raising efforts, that type of attitude will always fail the effort, especially if it's YOUR name, YOUR reputation that's heading it. People are watching, don't think a laissez faire attitude won't be considered in the future. It's called fund "raising" and not fund "waiting" for a reason. If you think that there's something that can be easily remedied, but don't say anything, hope that it fixes itself, how is that helpful?

But it's not my fund raiser, it's Haley's. It's Haley's name and Haley's reputation. All I'm saying is, I don't worry about her or what she's planning on doing.

I think she's a smart girl, who is a little more savy than given credit for. And I think she's got good people around her that are watching her back (like her parents.) Sure, as fans..we donate to help out, spread the word..

But at the end of the day, if this is something Haley fails at, then maybe she needs that lesson...or maybe she knows what she's doing, and she doesn't fail.

I'm convinced that 99% of the time Haley only accesses the Internet using her smartphone. And she does that using apps for Twitter and Instagram. Most likely she doesn't even have Internet service at home. This explains her lack of a wider social media presence. This hurts her in other ways. It means she doesn't have a good sense of fan sentiment. i.e., She doesn't read HF (or other sites). And she can't fully avail herself of all the tools available to her. There's a good chance she set up the Indiegogo site at the home of someone else and hasn't signed back into the account, which means she hasn't seen private comments left for her.

Maybe so, but where are the people around her who should be more savvy to help her... I've come up with so many excuses at this point that they start sounding comical. If she is indeed surrounded by good, professional industry people who advise her, where are they? Do they have limited wifi too?

I've never referenced "good, professional industry people." Camden has said he thinks new management is around the corner. And that the FARP is a personal side project of Haley's. Note she said she is "making lots of big transitions" and describes the project as "coming straight from the artist's direction."

Tusk, I hope you don't take this wrong, but I think you've let some peoples comments get to you. It's NOT YOUR JOB to make sure Haley makes her goal or gets recognition. If this is your job, then it's self-appointed. Yes, what you (and we all do ) do helps, and if you don't think she deserves it, or needs it, or you're just tired of it, then there's an easy solution: stop. I really care about you, but this isn't your stress to bear, it's Haleys. If she doesn't make the goal, if 95% of her fans say, "well, screw this, I'm not supporting her anymore", it wasn't because of or in spite of anything YOU did. You are only responsible for you, and things ain't always gonna turn out the way you want. This would be why I don't ever go to IDF anymore. There are pot stirrers galore, who's goal is to see you go through the roof. Haley appreciates you personally, she knows that you personally do everything you can to help her. It's up to you to decide what you can do and what you can't, without getting so stressed out. I mean this in the nicest way, I truly do think you get the super fan award, but you're not her manager, or her PR guy.
