Haley Reinhart's funky a$$ reality project

I talked to Haley about two weeks ago when she was in Atlanta for a Rally Idol event designed to raise money for the fight against childhood cancer.

She’s says she’s in the middle of “switching” the people working around her and, “in a moment of freedom,” decided to embark on the video project.

Haley, now 23, wrote “Show Me Your Moves” with Rob Kleiner, who also co-wrote three songs on her debut album. She describes it as “a funky little jam.”

“It’s super fun,” she says. “When people hear it, I want them to do exactly what it says — show me your moves. It makes you want to dance.”

Sigh ..... I wish Keith lived in L.A. so it would be more practical for him to be a part of Haley's new band. I miss that guy. Besides being appreciative of his musicianship, which is considerable, I love his infectious smile and overall joie de vivre (a quick Google search informs me that spelling is correct, although it still looks wrong to me). I hope he is doing well.

After listening to this video and the uploads of Caley gig at Room 5 earlier this week, I can't help "re-visiting" the idea, brought up frequently but since the CityWalk gig last summer, fairly consistently, that when Haley and Casey are ready to tour, they should do it in tandem. They can each have their own set, but in addition share a set and the backup musicians, which would seem to be a good thing for the backup musicians. Yes, I know it's a dream.

Does what -- sees words spelled correctly and still questions? It still seems like there's another vowel missing in "joie." My observation: Eastern European languages cluster consonants and somehow what we consider vowels are a part of it. The French language clusters vowels. The word "joie" is missing an "a," and "u" (and, perhaps, a "y") to complete the vowels. Why doesn't it have the entire vowel list??

In my defense, when I was a senior in high school (and you don't need to know just how long ago that was), I had a teacher (my favorite, actually, although most of my classmates detested her), who asked me to be a "teacher's assistant." I didn't grade papers, but I reviewed and corrected errors. Hardly anyone spelled anything correctly, and even now, lo these many years gone by, I question even correct spelling.

I agree-it may be a dream but,for me -in an ideal world- that's what I'd like to see as well.

kaypea, I almost included "ideal," but decided to stop short of that. I think we both recognize Casey's astonishing instrumental musical skills. And, as such, really good musicians seem to "gravitate" to Casey, which also isn't surprising. But Haley would be wise, if not looking at her parents band, then to work with Casey in finding her "team."

Haley and Casey may be on the cusp (or may already know) what some of us have been suggesting for awhile. Only they know ... Sigh again ....

I'm afraid That the time is near that Haley/Keith performances will be fewer and fewer. Midnight mentioned in the Room 5 thread she said she's 'putting a band together', and someone asked Keith if he might be in the video? His answer was a relatively emphatic "no".

It's possible they might perform together in the future, but I think as Haley's plan unfolds, and Keith continues on his path with his new crew, we should be grateful we have these beautiful musical nuggets to look back on and enjoy

While your message above doesn't surprise me, Tusk, it does make me sad. I adore Keith, both musically and his approach to life. How he connected with Haley was kind of "magical" -- and I'm not really prone to dramatic outlooks.

Life isn't ideal .... but yet something good may happen for all concerned.
