RE: Haley Reinhart's funky a$$ reality project
Tusk, I get where you're coming from, I have made it clear I wish she was more "out there" in social media. Heck, I wish she would just go ahead and join this forum under a guise, of course us Haliens would know it's her, and interact with us when she has time, I know other AI's have done that. Anyway, I come up with an opinion every once in a while that may be a bit negative, but rarely post it. You're being brave little grasshopper, and your opinion is valid.

Yes, ultimately it's about the music isn't it. Of course, there are lots of awesome performers that remain unknown because they haven't had the break, or they are not comfortable with, or good at promoting themselves. On the other hand, there are lots of crappy performers who achieve great success through hype and promotion. It's nice when talent and success come together.
Haley has a very loyal core fan base. I imagine this brings her joy, but it also represents a burden. She's under the microscope, which goes with the territory in the career she has chosen. And these fans want something in return -- mostly good music.
The funky a$$ project is a little different methinks because people are asked to pony up some cash. For a lot of people it's not just wanting a thank you, it wanting to share the excitement and anticipation. "We're thrilled about the project... aren't you?" Others might feel they invested in a project and need some reassurance that their money was well spent. If people feel ignored or taken for granted their enthusiasm diminishes. Not the end of the world, but it's distancing.
If Haley is successful in her releases going forward, episodes like this one will be long forgotten by most. Or never on the radar of new fans. (Although TMZ would probably dig some of this stuff up and run an article like "The Real Haley Reinhart...") Sorry if I'm beating a dead horse.

RE: Haley Reinhart's funky a$$ reality project
OK, now on a lighter note,
Apparently, I now have a "Team" too LOL
My brother and his wife have offered to draw up a dietary schedule and possibly light exercise to help me lose at least 10lbs, you know the 10lbs the camera supposedly adds to you? So I can be ready for my "DeMille" moment in month's time
It would be great for this 'couch potato' to lose more, but 10lbs is at least manageable and reachable

RE: Haley Reinhart's funky a$$ reality project
I'm looking forward to seeing you in the background of Haley's Video tusk.
One last comment before I give up trying to defend Haley's online skills:
The family is not high-tech savvy and I don't think they want to spend many hours online. Haley admitted it early-on and has branched her social media exposure out to include many more facets than I'm willing to devote my time to. (Vine, Instagram, etc.) For that learning of new toys over the past 2 years I give her great credit for expanding her universe. But I believe, unlike me, she doesn't spend most of her waking hours worrying about what she should or shouldn't be posting and instead prefers to be enjoying life in the great outdoors, in the studio, with friends and talking on the telephone to people that are important to her and her career. The Reinharts are down to one computer in their household and Friday I gave them an old laptop that I haven't used in a long, long time so they wouldn't have to share. I check my email about every hour, Harry checks his about every couple days. I suspect Haley goes online for less than an hour every other day. I'm not one to suggest she change her lifestyle to be a public relations specialist. If all my clients donated a total of $30,000 to enhance my design equipment & skills I would certainly thank them but I would do so in creating the best end production for their happiness that I could provide. I think Haley will do the same thing so I'll wait until the perks arrive and the music video is released to judge whether all the Halien funding got their value of Thank Yous in the finished product.
Hope I don't ruffle any more feathers with those comments. Now it's back to work for me.
