Haley Reinhart's funky a$$ reality project

Haley is, IMO, incredibly right brained. IMO she desperately needs someone to help her with this stuff. She's creative and artistic but she doesn't live in structure and I think the business side of the music industry is difficult for her. She seems like she needs someone to help with that aspect and to keep her organized.

My curiosity is in who's overseeing the project? Who's vision? From Instagram, you can see that Dannig is all over the place, seems to have something going on every day. Is Haley overseeing it, get's the final say in the edit, Avi?

With Rhea, we had an idea of what we think to expect, but right now, we don't know who's guiding the ship if not the two primaries, Haley & Dannig.

Guess we'll be surprised together (barring any further leaks by crew unfamiliar with Haliens' ability to sus things out :/ )

I agree Michael. The delay of CDs sounds like procrastination -- there are no corporate or contractual issues here. If fans had given me $35,000, I would be grateful and reciprocating their generosity would be at the top of my to do list. While there may be good reasons for delays, absent any information we are left to speculate. It's tempting to be an apologist but it is what it is and words are just words.

We don't know what issues are going on. Exactly. We can only speculate. But in the absence of any "official" information I feel free to speculate away. People speculate whether they post it or not. Nature abhors a vacuum or something like that.

Unless I hear different, I don't believe there are any corporate or contractual issues. This is Haley's project, not Interscope's. If there is a problem getting CDs, it is her problem not Interscope's.

I'm not frustrated and to a large extent my posts are about the issue "should she inform her fans?" I say yes, since she made the promise of a perk to many of those who gave her money. It has been 8 weeks or so and nothing has been delivered, in the case of the CDs. And I'm sure many fans are frustrated -- and it doesn't need to be that way. What's the argument against informing fans? People waiting on a perk (not just one) tweet her about it, but I'm not sure she ever sees those tweets.

I was a full time student, going to a community college and um, taking up most of the right side of the brain stuff, which I love, hoping that I never have to get ... to the left side...

Haley is and has always been who she is. Watching the Haleyloonies, she's pretty frank about her self valuation. That she follows her instincts "signs", that she gets lots of advice, takes what's useful, then let's the rest 'roll off her back'. She says she has a good work ethic, but I think that focus is when she is being creative, not necessarily the 'business' end of the industry (scheduling, networking, PR, advertising.. Left brain stuff).... She's basically a flower child of the 21st Century.

That's not an excuse or 'words', it's who she is.

Look back at the entire time that we've known of her, she was uneasy, uncomfortable with and obviously views Social Media as a necessary evil....She still does.

It's unfortunate that this is as much a part of who she is as the ultra talent that we all want her to show to the world. Our expectations, our hope for her to do well, that we want the world to see what we see, that we were right about her, we assume and expect her to be as savy as we think we are when we think we can advise her.

We don't know her, we don't know her opportunities, her limitations or what course she has drawn up for herself, her goals, who she wants to work with or whom has offered to help. We know none of it.

Bottom line, she is who she's always been , we don't know her or what goes in her mind. That she has been so good to fans that have met her, that's she so personable, we kind of think that we 'know her'... we don't.

Rachel and I and others have tweeted that we would be more than willing to help in any way (especially Rachel since she's nearby and social media savy). But I've always known that 'fan help' (like when people generously suggest I have some hand in officially helping promote her ) is a tricky thing, and that we are fans & as such, fans have their 'role' to play as well.

As far as doing something 'official' for Haley, it can't be by a fan, because in business, objectivity, the ability to speak honestly about a job, is harder when it's to a fan who works for free, as opposed to a hired professional, who you can honestly say, "I hate it, try again" and not worry about hurt feelings.

I too am disappointed for her that this isn't going more smoothly, I'm disappointed for fans that feel, rightly or wrongly, factually or not, that they are being ignored, that their generosity has not been reciprocated with expediency of delivery. It really, really sucks. But we love her because of who she is, that amazing singer, that great personality, and that untapped potential.

There are PLENTY of struggling, talented artists that are working their butts off, on Social Media but still don't have the exposure and IMO talent Haley does, yet they have little traction, like my pre-Haley follow, Ana Free. She's constantly Social Networking/Stageit/Gigging. She's doing really well, has a global following too, but didn't get the leg up that Haley got through competing on AI. Sometimes, I wonder what might have been had I been as inspired by Ana as I was with Haley.... But then I remember, as much as I liked Ana, she's no Haley

Competent and Hard Working management will help her w/ her Left Brain responsibilities so she can let her Right Brain discover and realise it's potential

I agree completely Tusk. And I don't believe this stuff is intentional or shows Haley isn't grateful for what her fans have done. She doesn't use technology well to help herself either. And this whole project is technology based. I didn't expect it to go that smoothly.

I had a teacher (friend now) who was brilliant. Extremely creative. Extremely intelligent. (Went to Oxford and Yale.) I worked with her in our theatre program..and as brilliant and introspective and creative as she was...she just couldn't keep herself organized. She was always being pulled in 20 different directions..never knew where anything was. Didn't pay attention to budgets or costume lists, time frames or where the extra scripts were..etc..

But she knew herself..and she made sure to have people around her who could help her do all of those things. Partially because she was so busy and partially because her mind just didn't work in a way that led her to be good at doing those things.

And I really think that Haley needs the help. Official help. Someone for twitter, and tumblr, and instagram, and to keep a website..to keep track of the gigs she's doing..to let her fans know what's going on..to ADVERTISE herself.

And the truth may be that she may know she needs it but just can't afford it at the moment (or might be stuck in some management deal...or what not..) Who knows really. But I think it's important that she has this for her career. Because she definitely needs it.

It kinda makes me wonder how artists commutated with there fans way before social media was in existence and were successful at what they did.Dunno maybe im a little old school ,could be that Hales is to.Hales will rise.

I received some pics from the other Haliens from the shoot and boy am I grateful. All their pics came out fantastic... Mine not so much There are a couple of all of us in our gear w/ make up on With Haley... I'm sure they'll tweet them, but boy they're great pics

I tried to do a bunch of video recording which ended up badly because I broke the tripod I brought on the plane, the wind was strong wiped out most of the audio.... I can barely remember the tune to SMYM .

One thing I look forward to posting is one of the many impromptu times Casey and the GingerbreadBand would just randomly break out into song. Fortunately, one of the vids where the sound was 'decent' was one where they were playing behind their cars, then Haley suddenly stepped in, in full costume and started really getting into singing the song. They started to pull her away near the end, but she stayed 'til the song was over before she left

I do have some decent pics tho, and am excited to post them when the video is finally released
