Babbs & Penny(+) & Himm2 were at the Midnight Trio gig at El Sombrero last night for all three sets and Patti & Harry chatted at length with us during the set breaks. Harry was still excitedly high from what he termed "the best few days in LA ever!". The 4 days of recording 8 songs for the 6 or 7 song EP at Westlake Studios went extremely well and Harry was thrilled with the outcome and to be working with such world-class people in a world-class studio. Stevie Wonder's Drummer, Jacob, QmZigler, Haley, Harry and a producer that thought what they produced was epic. After hearing Harry's excitement I really looking forward to this sophomore CD to do better than the Interscope created one. "I Belong To You" & "My Cake" will be two that will likely make the cut.

It was very fun last night at El Sombrero with Midnight Trio. And to watch Harry describe what it was like to record in the studio that Michael Jackson recorded in. He said it was the most "exhilarating time of his life". Made me feel very proud for Haley that she included her dad in the recording of her EP.

Great to hear that Harry was recording with Haley in LA. It looks likely the studio was inspirational for all of them. I would think that having her dad there would keep Haley grounded and close to her roots. It seems that Haley made this recording experience just to her liking. Her musicians, her team.

I can imagine when the process is controlled by the label that you might get all kinds of messed up advice from the producers. Having her dad there gave her a familiar and trusted source of input. This EP should truly be a Haley production.

Justin Timberlake’s “Justified” tour kicked off about six months after Charlie graduated, and from there, doors started to open and more relationships were built. It’s been pretty much non-stop since then, says Charlie. His resume as a professional musician has grown to include gigs on tours with the Backstreet Boys, John Mayer, Justin Timberlake (again), Ciara, and Rihanna (twice).

It sounds like Stanley Randolph is the drummer for Haley's EP. However, Roland Gajate-Garcia was also involved. He appears to specialize in the Conga and related instruments (he has a signature line of congas, timbas and other Latin American drums) and perhaps these will be included on a cut or two. I just listened to Listen and it sounds like the song incorporates conga style percussion. So, maybe they recorded that song.
