Just tapping into stream of conscience. listening to what it says.... Seems like a lot of time has passed since #Better was originally slated to be released. From the CHFIL triggering event, I can see alot going through Haley's head including possible new song ideas. We don't know if Haley's had other recording sessions w/ whomever might be available she can draw from surrounding LA areas. Maybe part of it is wishful thinking.

I guess we can go w/ 10 songs as a starting point, but I can see Haley expanding it to more, 'anything goes' mentality, including adding more recent songs, once it was decided they would expand the EP to an Album.

Haley's 'old school', I think she has 'vinyl' sensibilities, LU Deluxe had 14 songs. I believe her when she says this is also for the fans who've been waiting. Independantly released, I can see her going over 10 songs easily

Haley really knocked it out of the park with CHFIL as has been stated by others. And very cool Casey was part of it. Crazy how it has taken off and has put Haley on the radio charts. Nothing but amazing if you ask me.

I agree that Haley wants to get her music out for her fans who have been waiting for quite a while. I was just wondering (over thinking) how the release of CHFIL and its success has changed things? I would love more than 10 songs but I have no clue about number of songs or what is the right formula in today’s market of music and streaming. Does she releases 10 songs and hope it peaks interest for more to come? Has CHFIL and Creep given her exposure to people who are now wanting to hear more and buy more of her music?? To me Haley is “old school” meets “new school” which is very interesting and very unique. I just hope one song of her new music takes off and get radio play *fingers, toes, legs and arms and eyes crossed*.

That's the beauty of her working with a publishing and placement partner (*alliteration!*), her music and standard for success won't rely on iTunes and radio play, only.

Ole seems to have confidence in Haley as a songwriter, translated, they feel they can place her music....songs like LIWFF, for instance, I can see performed in a play or maybe in a movie. There's a quality in Haley, her music, they feel they can capitalise on and utilize.

Like CHFIL, iTunes sales/radioplay are just the 'cherry on top"

Place more songs, means more revenue streams....speaking of, the more of her own songs are out there, she may garner interest from other artists to look through her song writing catalogue to maybe sing a song she wrote

Does that mean getting the CD into Walmart, Best Buy, Target and other big retailers or something more modest? The digital download side seems like a simple matter. Scott puts out itunes songs every week and several albums a year. His sale of physical CDs or vinyl is not through big retail channels, however, and is probably quite modest.

The music industry and distribution of music has changed quite a bit in the last 10 years. The Millennials and technology are driving the changes not the music industry. Learning about and watching the industry change plus watching Haley finding her niche in the market is exciting for me. This is exactly why I love watching Haley's journey.

On the other hand it is the largest retailer of music CDs in the US. That deluxe deal was Interscope's deal with them.

CDs are still a significant chuck of revenues or at least they were in 2014, although that year digital downloads and streaming overtook physical CDs.

Global revenue from music downloads and subscriptions has overtaken sales of physical formats for the first time. In 2014, digital revenue grew nearly 7 percent to $6.85 billion, while physical sales — of which CDs make up the vast majority — fell 8 percent to $6.82 billion. These figures, from a report from the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), also reflect the growing popularity of digital music streaming, with revenue from services like Spotify growing 40 percent to $1.57 billion.

DOWNLOADS STILL ACCOUNT FOR 52% OF DIGITAL REVENUE

However, despite the increased popularity of streaming music, downloads still accounted for 52 percent of digital revenue — even though the format showed declining sales, falling 8 percent in all established markets. Despite these fluctuations, however, the industry as a whole is relatively stable, with overall revenue falling just 0.4 percent to $14.97 billion for the year 2014. (For historical comparisons, this is down from a peak of $40 billion in 1999.)

The recorded music pie has been stable revenue-wise, but it is amazing how far it has come down from the 1999 peak.

I don't mess with CDs, but they still represent a huge chuck of music sales. In this day and age it just seems like a headache for those not selling huge numbers. I imagine Haley might not have the resources or a mechanism to get CDs into stores, but she might have some made (vinyl too) for shows and online sales ().
