Recent (10/23/14) article/interview with Casey:

On the personal front, Abrams has made news courtesy his dating a fellow "Idol" finalist, Haley Reinhart, and recording a duet, a cover of Ray Charles' "Hit the Road Jack," on his self-titled debut album (personally produced by "Idol" judge Randy Jackson).

"I'd say there's definitely a lot of love there, and we're very, very fond of each other ... I mean, how many girls do you kiss that also make music? But I'm gonna say, no, we're not dating that way now. We ARE still musically dating, though."

The outcome, he says, may involve a shared album, with one side devoted to his jazz leanings and the other to her rock love. With a tandem tour to boot.

"So there's this beautiful thing we still have together," he says, "and we'll be writing a whole bunch more music."

That Casey comment surprises me- I'm of the opinion they never dated, but I don't live with them so who knows!?! I'd be thrilled if they did, though.

I asked Casey about that article and the promise of a Caley tour at Room5 after the show, when he came up to say Hi (to Rachel )

Let's just say, he was non committal, maybe a bit evasive. I didn't bring up the "relationship" aspect of the article

Hmm..so Haley and Casey were dating at one point? That's cute.

I knew it ! Not sure I said it there but I really thought there was a period about 7 months ago (maybe 10 )that they were "getting together" from body language. Casey's body has been getting decidedly more firm to be less of a dichotomy with haley's sexiness.

Kids today are reluctant to say "boyfriend" but might say "dating".

I don't mean this as an insult either by the way. Maybe it's my being a Californian but I think it's a healthy thing (done correctly and not with too many partners) for 20 year olds to do in their years of looking for a spouse.

I mean.. nature calls and I think the young 20's is too early to get married when career paths aren't settled. I think it might be less so when people have a firmer grasp of their future and who "they'll be"

There is such thing as true love though too and so I'm not knocking others that find their love earlier. (my brother met his wife of 25 years when he was 19).

Yea, the actual quote..reading it..doesn't seem as much of a "Definitely dated" at one point as it does within the article. But you never know. (And Casey and Haley recorded that duet a long time ago.)

I think it's natural for two people who are so musically connected to have that other bond, but it would have been a shame if it had gone south and they couldn't work together any longer. (Doesn't seem to have been the case though.)

Regardless, that's interesting.

It's obvious to me that if Haley was interested in a romantic relationship or thought it was a wise move with Casey, they'd already be living happily ever after since I think Casey would be "All In" if it was up to him. I'm pretty sure the Reinharts would welcome him into the family also if that was the case. I think they luv eachother in a mutually respectful professional way. Who knows, in time their best friend long term performing relationship may turn out to follow the same path as Patti & Harry.

Without being redundant cause I've said it in a later post. Season 9 wasn't meant to be for Haley.Had she gone through with it she would never have met Casey nullifying the Caley saga. How the simple twist of fate played in Haleys favor and for the Bass man. Best of friends in music and just hanging with eachother.
