...Haley Reinhart & Scott Bradlee are not just the biggest new thing in jazz today, they are the biggest thing to happen to jazz popularity in decades. How big are they?

*They have owned the iTunes Jazz charts since Habits crashed into the Top 5 in January.
*Currently, all of their recordings are in the Top 30, while Lovefool and Creep remain entrenched in the Top 5.
*On YouTube, the 4 videos have 12 million combined views and that number is growing fast.
*Their arrangement of Creep was copied by a performer on The Voice finals.
*They have received effusive critical acclaim from major music review sites like Billboard, Time and Yahoo.

Clearly there's something is going on here. If you look at the jazz charts today, there's virtually no new music or artists on there besides them, and no artists so young (Reinhart 24, Bradlee 33)....

He must be wanting Joey to do a song (and bring in all those AI fans of hers). But she shouldn't be equated with Haley Reinhart. Perhaps he also wants to send a message to future contestents of these kinds of shows: recognize us and we will recognize you. I'm glad to see her connect with PMJ, as others have mentioned.

Scott gets ripped off again by tv show in the Philippines - ASAP. Singer Zsazsa Padilla covers Blank Space. The arrangement is a straight up ripoff of the PMJ version, and the performance even includes the use of feathery fans. The host of the show complements the band leader on his "wonderful" arrangement.

Listen up! As I mentioned before, I'm launching a SECOND YouTube channel at youtube.com/scottbradlee. PMJ is a pretty well-defined thing at this point, but the only reason PMJ exists is because in the early days, I had a youtube channel that was basically a laboratory. It is SO important for me to continue to experiment with new ideas and series, in addition to creating new works with PMJ.
So, going forward, the Postmodern Jukebox youtube channel will be strictly for PMJ videos (which come out every Thursday), and the Scott Bradlee channel will eventually be home to new series, vlogs / tutorials, experiments in music / social media, and whatever else I feel like doing. It will probably be more comedic in tone than PMJ at times, too, so if you're a PMJ fan, you might like this stuff OR you might not - and that's ok!
Here's the link to subscribe - right now, the Saturday Morning Slow Jams series are the only thing listed (more on that in a bit!), but look for new videos to start appearing in the next month.
