^^Very cool. I love it when long time Haliens finally get a chance to meet Haley. And to actually have Haley sing along with you while you play an instrument......priceless. That may be one of the best first-time Haley encounters of all time.

This is a very heart warming story with Avelene finally getting to meet Haley. I wish she could have seen the PMJ show with Haley in all her glory up on the stage. But I think Avelene got the best part... her own private sing-a-long with Haley. It makes me very happy to see Haley being so considerate of her fans. And once she meets you, she doesn't forget your face either. She will remember you the next time she sees you.

So glad I'm a fan of this very special artist!!

So I got a full day from the PMJ show, got to be there and listen to Haley sing "Creep" softly while Avelene strummed on the Uke (bummed I wasn't ready to record because i was catching up w/ Arianna and talking w/ Blake) then also a lot of meeting the rest of the group as they came out after the show.

I don't know what people are saying, but Maiya was outstanding, it was obvious she had a large group of the audience there to see her... actually, it was a very exuberant crowd, I might be biased, but the cheering seemed to reach a higher level when Haley came on, but every one seemed to be greeted w/ a rousing welcome when they entered the stage.

Unfortunately, they told me I had to check the bag w/ the cameras in coat check so I had to rely on my camera phone which was horribly inadequate. I think "Burn" might be good enough to post, but "Creep", "Lovefool" and "Habits" are probably not worth posting as much as I tried to justify the audio was 'good enough'

I'd like to point out how impressed I was w/ 'Sourtaps', Sarah Reich. I got to meet her when I walked with Jacob to get some coffee.... She exuded this quiet, classy confidence, a cool accent that oozes somebody that hung around jazz musicians all her life.... I have to admit I was smitten with this mighty mite dynamo (I mentioned to Haley before the show, outside, that I'd met Sarah..."is she shorter than you?" Haley did a 'fist pump', "Yes! She's 4'11''" LOL

Also met Blake for the first time when he came outside with Haley and Arianna (Arianna: "Tusk!" !!! "You know me?" "Of course we know Tusk") LOL

I told Blake I came from his 'hood', Bothell. Blake: "Really? Or are you just pulling my leg?

I told him, no, I mentioned some of the towns around the area. He told me he has a gig up there on the 24th, but I told him I wouldn't be flying out until the 25th... (I'll be sure to see a show if he happened to have one, when I get back)

I think Blake wanted to get out to where they were going, but they waited for Avelene and Haley to have their moment. Arianna could not get enough of the scene...you could hear her say things like "OMG that is sooo sweet" (When Avelene sang a Beatles song, then shifted into "Better" Haley said "Awwww" and looked at Blake and Arianna, hand over heart So cool)

I also heard Arianna tell Blake, "Haley has the best fans... oh my goodness" she wasn't saying it out loud for us to hear, she was just saying it quietly to Blake

So I started to have the above conversations w/ Blake and Arianna, one of Avelene's friends asked, "Did you want a picture w/ Haley?" I thanked her, "No, this is Avelene's time" and returned to talking with Arianna, how I regretted not having a chance to talk w/ her in the UK because my ride (Halien, Lynne) was leaving (because I was hanging back stage, all the public transportation was closed, including the boat that would take me back to my Hotel. Lynne and her husband offered to drive me back, so I had to leave)....

Next thing we know, Avelene was strumming "Creep" on her Ukelele, and we heard Haley softly singing "Creep"

Arianna and I both directed our attention towards the music, Arianna cooed "Awwww, how precious!" and pulled out her phone to start recording... I think Arianna, not even knowing Avelene, was very moved by the scene. Arianna, while recording could be heard softly singing harmony to Haley

She said she would post it, so hopefully she will. I had Twitter open and used that recording utility, but didn't know that it wouldn't save on my phone so missed out. I think Avelene's friend got a lot of it.

Anyways, I'll stop here and post anything I might recall.. Here are a few pics I posted from before and after the show...

When I asked Scott to autograph my LP, he said his one regret was "Creep" wasn't ready in time to put on the album

BTW, very glad I got to see/hear Robyn sing, just like the other ladies of PMJ, striking live, and also wickedly witty

Thanks so much Tusk for sharing your recaps from yesterday with us. I do love reading all the stories and seeing the pics and videos. I agree with you regarding Sarah Reich! She is a little dynamo! I was very impressed with her and actually with everyone in the cast. Scott sure put together a top notch group of artists.

Sorry you couldn't use your cameras for the show. Hope you were able to enjoy the show a little more without using the bigger lens. Looking forward to hearing about the big finale tonight at Nokia Theater. Have a great time!
