Haley touring with PMJ -- Feb 2015 - March 2016 (& March 2017)

Just received a email from PMJ for the VIP... Pretty major change, some might think it's good, others might not think so.

The VIP will happen after the show now instead of before (I've DM'd them to see if VIP still get early access to the venue)

Which presumably means you will have more time to spend w/ the artists (Used to be they would hurry through the VIP, take the pic ) so this might be a move to make the experience longer.

Which then means that if you wanted to meet the acts after the show because you didn't buy the VIP, you're out of luck because they will be at the VIP

That also means that there will be fewer VIP spaces as well as raised prices. Luckily I already bought mine, so my price will be 'grandfathered' in but I think the new price might make it not possible for some fans...

Yeah I can see how it's good and bad. Good for PMJ, more money for M&G's, good for fans because they get a better experience with the group.

Bad for fans because now they have to stay later (the shows already end pretty late) especially if you have a long ride home.

Also bad for fans who bring gifts they wanted to give to any of the cast. Now you're forced to hold your gift the whole show (especially if you're at a venue that doesn't have assigned seating)

Bad for fans because now it's more expensive.

Before, most of the time it seems you could stay after the show and end up meeting the cast, without having to pay any money for M&G. Which was cool for the fans. But for those who paid money to spend little time with the cast before, what was the point? Other than that it was guaranteed.

This time around, I didn't buy a M&G ticket. It was already too expensive for me as it is after buying 2 tickets to the show which was like $120. Driving to downtown LA is difficult as it is for me. Now my chances of seeing Haley after the show (and giving her my gift I've been wanting to give her since her birthday) seems very slim.

After the recent attacks, not gonna lie, the thought of going to a prime location in DTLA and a concert has been making me nervous. I hate that I'm thinking this way but I can't help it. Now I probably won't see Haley... not sure how worth going this time around is to me anymore unfortunately

I assume you're referring to the Microsoft Theater show. I think the confusing factor is that the venue offers its own version of a VIP package, separate from the PMJ VIP package. This package offers a number of amenities which overlap with PMJ's, including priority entrance, but does not include meeting the artists.

BTW, after the first few days the event went on sale they blocked off the best orchestra seats for their VIP package and another price point designated "Premium". We were fortunate to get really good seats before this happened, by ordering the same day as the Club Nokia performance, when the event was first announced. Now it appears that the MS VIP packages are sold out except for individual seats, and only in a side orchestra section.
But, on the other hand, I checked the basic AXS site through the PMJ link and out of curiosity I looked for 2 seats in center orchestra. It showed that Row L, center orchestra was available, at just the base price, so evidently they've now released some of the premium seats that were held back for MS VIP, or Premium, and didn't sell. So anyone who hasn't bought tickets for LA yet, you might want to jump on it.

I feel bad for people who previously either paid through the nose for MS VIP/Premium seats to get close or bought base price seats way in the back, or on the side. This was a very confusing sale process and undoubtedly unfortunate for a number of fans who might have bought their tickets at the wrong time.

Wow you're right. I bought mine awhile back, all they had were the crappier seats all the way to the left. That's what I got. They're not that great of seats at all. Now I could buy front section center for about the same price, with a way better view. If I would have just waited...

It's been a problem since at least the earlier LA show, this time my friend bought 7 tickets, but at different locations because they would release tickets at different times (usually not great seats)... so there was no value to buying the tickets earlier, although you miss the chance entirely if you wait until 'last minute' to get the better seats..

It's all a bunch of BS and ruins the show seeing experience

We've been talking about the probable plans of splitting PMJ into at least two troupes, the comment at the end of the email appears to be an indicator that that time might be here sooner than later (along w/ increasing VIP prices from $55 to $100) VIP was $75 in the UK, I assume that the price 'adjustment' means their prices will be almost doubled as well

As with the concert tickets, please do not buy a ticket for any particular cast member. Postmodern Jukebox is always a rotating community of phenomenally talented performers and we do not guarantee the attendance of any cast member, or of the creator and producer of the show, Scott Bradlee.

The email was for the San Diego show, though I also bought VIP for LA

I can't help but think this is going to have an initial negative impact, whether the negativity fades as PMJ's popularity grows is yet to be determined

I see they also just increased the (now post-show) VIP price for the Dec. 18th show from $55 to $100 which NUG & I didn't buy. So unless I camp out by the tour bus long after the show it may be unlikely that I'll get Ariana to autograph my Fedora that she rubbed all over her onstage.

Two points...

After Haley sped through Lovefool, the host asked Scott about PMJ, then turned to Haley, welcomed her back and asked her which season of AI was she on? She answered 'Season 10' but followed up w/ "Doing big things though" IIRC.....
