Haley touring with PMJ -- Feb 2015 - March 2016 (& March 2017)

Speaking as someone who's seen Haley perform many times (lost count) people have always questioned the 'wear' on her voice. It's the nature of having a 'raspy' voice. Haley has a regimen she keeps to take care of her voice. It could be that she might be 'under the weather', but it also could be the difference between hearing her live as opposed to on TV or over the internet.

This could be true and i may be wrong, but i do think there was a difference in the quality of her voice, like it was strained a bit. I thought that from the moment I heard her sing in the opening group number. At the end, her voice definitely cracked, maybe the only bad note I've ever heard from her. But to be honest, it in no way diminished her performance and the impact she had on the audience. Only a trained professional singer would recognize it probably-- or someone who's seen as many performances (video or live) as we have.

PMJ is and has been a 'rotating' cast situation, they've posted about it, but fans will always want to see their favorites. PMJ offers exposure and opportunity which the vocalists would be wise to take advantage of when it comes along. Scott, also wisely, has to prepare for that contingency so that PMJ can move forward and grow.

There certainly was a large cast last night, and I figured going in that Haley would only sing two solos. It wouldn't have be right for her to sing more, really. They could have put her in more group numbers, probably, but maybe they are 'saving' her-- or she told them she couldn't do it. It makes no difference, because she went ALL OUT on CREEP. As Miguel pointed out, she physically got her body into it-- more than in any video I've ever seen. I was amazed. In retrospect, I should have recorded it with my iPhone (sorry guys), but I wanted to enjoy the moment. In those 4+ minutes she was the STAR of the show that had a lot of talented performers.

Others agree. I saw reports last night that the performance sounded better than the video and that she used her body to put everything she had into it.

Like everyone here, I've seen pretty much every CREEP performance posted on the Internet. This one had 'something EXTRA' for sure. Hehe.

To be honest, her voice DID sound a bit more 'hoarse' (if that is the right word) than usual, and I thought she could be worried about going for the high notes. She was the last to sing on the finale Christmas group song, and her voice even cracked a bit at the very last note.

It seems like the impression that Haley is under the weather or that her voice is strained seems to come up pretty regularly, both with people seeing her live and sometimes on video comments.

I've taken comfort in the belief that Haley hasn't been overdoing it with her voice -- she hasn't toured more than about two weeks at a time and she has always just performed a few songs solo at each show. I hope that the perceptions of hoarseness and illness just reflect the nature of her day to day voice rather than something wrong like strain. If it's the latter, then how would she hold up touring as a solo act?
