Sucks for Scott too. That shoutout Joey Cook gave on American Idol led to more than a few people discovering PMJ. Some have made comments to that effect. He was also robbed of credit on the UK version of The Voice.

It was christina's decision to do the song. I wanted christina to win this year...but not anymore

all Christina had to do was give a shout out at the beginning and clue the other judges that it wasn't their original idea. So poor and unprofessional. Hope they get a bazillion negative tweets

I would have been fine if they gave them credit, but they didn't even do that...

The thing that bothers me about this cover the most is that it steps all over Haley's PMJ cover. The Voice has a big reach. People will hear Haley's version and say/think, oh that sounds like the one Kimberly did.

It also gets wrapped up in the comparison thing.

It will be interesting to see how Scott responds. Does it seem that the "PMJ with Haley" version is a model? Undoubtedly.

But this is not a "note for note" replication of the PMJ with Haley version. I think that even Scott would have a hard time selling the "note by note" rip off, in this case (unless there are things that I'm not hearing in the Scott/Haley version -- that is a possibility).

However, it is interesting --and unfortunate -- for PMJ that it is now popular enough that people are using its arrangements frequently, but don't feel the need to give credit.

Then there is the bit that mercfan keeps trying to get across to us, that perhaps credit either was or would have been given, but was edited out or the opportunity (to give credit) wasn't an option.

Ultimately, it seems like a bit of a crapshoot.

Yes. They're stealing the limelight, and credit.

Funny how the show now widely credited at having the best artists doesn't respect other artists.
