I think it was the number of tweets, and their tone, that got you blocked. She probably would have let one of that nature go.

I directed a couple of "scolding" tweets at @NBCTheVoice, but I didn't copy @KimNicky on them. All she saw from me was my pointing out to others the "inspiration" for the performance. I think that's fair given she had a nationally televised program for a platform.

It's my impression Kimberly Nichole is one of the frontrunners.

But she only has 13.7K Twitter followers.

Guess that's a sign of how these shows are faring. Or Twitter.

Plagiarism is a very sore spot with me, that's why I go out of my way to make and give credit when possible... It's always annoying when I discover people taking my vids and posting it as their own.... giving credit is the very least thing they could do

Makes it harder when I know Haley's doing things 'the right way' and seeing lesser talents take credit for her work, when she's been more than deserving of the opportunity for that kind of reach

Tusk, it's not that it's okay to plagiarize.

It's that she likely didn't even know she did that.

I don't know if Christina came up with the idea herself. But in general, song choice on The Voice is not a thing like Idol. It's a "collaborative effort" between producers, the coach, and the contestant. One contestant this week had never heard of the song he was given.

Now, I don't know if Christina knows of Haley or not. (She does seem to like the same songs as Haley though.) But odds are Kimberly has not seen (well, until tonight) the PMJ version of this song. She's working 16 hour days, she doesn't have the time for youtube..

Chrsitina Aguilera? A better possibility..but I'd wager more than likely it came from one of the producers whose intern found it online. They suggest the idea to Christina..she gets to blend her musical influences with Kim's. (Kim is a rock singer, Christina more blues/jazz/R&B), thinks it's a good idea..Kimberly accepts..and neither of the two know how the producer comes up with it.

So as much as I agree that PMJ and Haley deserve credit. I think it's important to remember how the Voice specifically is run. It's not like Idol where the artist is making the creative decisions. 90 percent of the time, the contestants are given their songs and arrangements. (They actually usually have to push really hard for that not to be the case.) So NBC and The Voice should be making sure that credit was given. Christina and Kim could have easily thought they were doing an original take on the song.

To me, Kimberly's performance sounds a like a cross between Haley's "Creep" and "I who have nothing."

Seems Scott was pretty deflated by this too.. I didn't do anything rude but fire a couple warranted tweets that she should know better as an artist... I think the evidence shows they knew... and Scott's obvious reactions of disappointment tells me he knows they were cavalier w/ the credit too

There may be good ways and not so good ways to do it, but I fully support intense backlash against these high roller shows that screw the little guy for material. All they need to do is give credit.

exactly... it's not asking much, a few seconds. It's not like I want them to pay cash or anything, just credit. I think sometimes people don't understand, to artists, Ideas and credit is more precious than gold.... It's something you create from yourself

If this were to happen to a big name, you can sure as heck expect more than 'credit' will asked for by the lawyer$$
