Haley & PMJ - great exposure...what does the future hold?
Note from Miguel: Initial posts split from the "Creep" thread

While I was driving home from work, I was thinking about how many people have seen the video. And I realized, in the grand scheme of things, it's a tiny splinter of humanity.
On the other hand, last week Idol was #1 in total viewers with an audience of 8.37 million for a show featuring Kelly Clarkson. That too is but a splinter of humanity.
And Haley has been featured in 3 videos that have drawn more than a million viewers since the beginning of the year. I'm not sure any Idol aside from Casey can say that.

Don't doubt it Miguel..
I think this might be "the real deal" for Haley (although she might still make it big finacially in that voice-over thing too)
PMJ has a big trend behind it.. it's no "one off" thing that Joey on American idol covered the PMJ version of fancy (although that's only showing 150k views)
Pop Music has been evolving/shifting/rotating so quickly the last few years that it appears people have a real hunger for new sounds that also have a driving feel ... Jazz influenced pop might be right "where it's at" and Haley is the sweetest for that sweet spot (might expand for Lake Street Dive too)
That's millions in just days Miguel and without that size of an audience existing already built in.
I do think it COULD be great to maintain connection with PMJ (EDIT) to be maintained for a while..(I've really felt she needed a consistent band with a full rhythm section including a drummer for years) I hope they do arrangement of some of Haley's own songs though!

RE: CREEP - PMJ studio version with HALEY
I don't expect much participation w/ PMJ after the US tour is over, I think there'll be a mutual parting of the ways, not a permanent one necessarily.
Each have benefited from their collaboration, but Haley's got her own path, her own destiny, and Scott, his PMJ's a HOT ticket... he strikes me as extremely loyal, I imagine he'll have his hands full with all the past singers (with less exposure than Haley) and new ones (who'll want to get in on the PMJ wave) that he'll have more than enough 'parts' to mix and match for his arrangements.
(Although I wonder how hard he'll push to get Haley to be part of his International tour?... You KNOW Haley would be in demand, all the Overseas Haliens hoping to hear her sing live......ALOT of traveling, will Haley's schedule allow for that?)
I'm not sure Haley expected the HUGE impact that her collab w/ PMJ has garnered, but I expect she has personal, solo goals she's been working towards and will want to see them met. She's had plenty of opportunity to be part of a 'group' with Casey, but outside of BICO, and their obvious chemistry/popularity, it hasn't really been anything more than jamming with her friend... I think she has plans to make it as a solo act, sometimes join in with others, but primarily solo.
I can see Scott and Haley getting back together if this "PMJ thing" continues to grow, gaining opportunity for some kind of nation wide broadcast (American Idol? Christmas/Holiday special?), but other than that, they both have a bountiful of opportunity and potential to work on their own projects.

I agree with you Tusk. At some point, Haley needs to move on with her own music. But this has been such an amazing collaboration for Haley and Casey both. She's gotten some great exposure and been able to tour without the fuss and expense of organizing and executing one on her own (although it's not her own music). She's made new fans, woken up some old fans, and made her long time fans very excited about the future.
I'll be sad to see Haley go her own way from PMJ, but with an EP on the horizon, IMO its only a matter of time before that happens. Hopefully, this experience will make her WANT to tour with her own band, and Ole will back that up.

Soon Haley will graduate from being apprentice to a journeyman singer/ performer

RE: CREEP - PMJ studio version with HALEY
Haley joined PMJ 3 month ago yesterday with the release of Habits. During that time, she has done Habits, AATB, and Creep that combined will likely surpass 5,000,000 views on PMJ's You Tube channel sometime tomorrow. In addition, she has seen the AATB go viral to the tune of ~26 million views on Facebook and gotten the opportunity to sing in Paris, London, and 10 other European cities. Soon she'll be singing with PMJ on its U.S. tour.
I am not so sure that the girl who sees signs, and goes with the flow, is going to be too quick to part ways in any definitive way with PMJ after the upcoming U.S. tour. She doesn't have the infrastructure (band, management, marketing, website, etc.) to go solo, she's got other things going on (e.g., F is for Family), she's sort of been there before, and she's putting out an EP not an LP, which regardless of it's quality, dampens it's chances to be a big success or offer significant promotional activities.
That being said, I'm not sure this is the best place for this discussion, Any chance it could be moved to a separate thread?
Creep is now at at 1,688,180 views.

^Excellent points IITWI...3 months is a very short time...would make sense to keep this collaboration going for awhile.

RE: Haley & PMJ - great exposure...what does the future hold?
I'm not throwing any shade on a continuance of collaboration, my point is, I get the feeling she's got things lined up... for example whatever that project is with 88 films.. From emails from Harry and Haley remarking on how she's glad she's finally getting stuff rolling, makes me think she's got more planned than FIFF and the EP.
She won't be waiting by the phone hoping Scott will give her another cover to do. As I said, if the momentum from Creep continues to grow at a decent rate, that might make her alter her plans to ride that momentum to wherever it might lead. Otherwise, I imagine the PMJ success is an added bonus to what she had already set up for the year, an unexpected addition to whatever She and Ole have planned for 2015
Also, I'm REALLY hoping they plan to have a tour to support the EP...
