It's Casey's hometown and Haley's a hot ticket right now, I'd be surprised if someone in the community government didn't get anything to help civic promotion... I'm sure we'll get something...

I actually considered going, I was invited to a family thing in CA, but couldn't make it, besides hotel and car rental, the 3+ hour drive to and back added a little more weight to the 'not going' side of the ledger

I looked into the event when it first popped up. The cost of lodging and the distance didn't make it practical for me. I get the feeling people in that area march to a different beat. One that lacks any sense of urgency.

Jazz in the Pines evolves from its own traditions


...The most pop act of the weekend was the variety show Abrams hosted in the parachute-shaded amphitheater. After opening the set on acoustic guitar, the former “American Idol” finalist had his horn section run through the meadow and leap on stage. Before the set was finished, they had been joined by a tap dancer, a young violinist, a man playing the kazoo and fellow “Idol” finalist Haley Reinhart. The youthful Reinhart elevated the set from a fun reunion of friends to something very special with original material, the torch song, “Hey Baby, Ain’t I Good To You” and some beautiful harmonies with Casey.

Their set was promoted as a showcase of a new type of jazz in which Casey and Haley would re-arrange contemporary pop hits in a ’20s and ’30s style, but they only did that on Meghan Treynor’s “All About That Bass,” which has an old-timey feel anyway. I’d love to see more of that since their version of that song was infectious....
