Haley Reinhart and Postmodern Jukebox Are Pure Joy on Jazzy ‘Lovefool’ Cover (VIDEO)

One of the most exciting, inventive music channels on YouTube is back for another gloriously retro cover. Yes, Scott Bradlee and the talented musicians of Postmodern Jukebox have once again teamed with Haley Reinhart to produce another cover that’s downright dreamy.

The song? A track I’m not sure anyone would even think to cover, which is what makes it as brilliant as it ends up being: The Cardigans’ 1996 hit, “Lovefool”.

After collaborating with them on a stellar 1930s Jazz cover of Tove Lo’s “Habits” and the similarly soulful, inevitably viral retro take on Radiohead’s iconic “Creep”, it seems Haley is on-track to being a regular with Postmodern Jukebox. And you’ll get no complaints from me there. This is an absolutely fantastic road for her to be traveling, as it matches her unique, throwback style. Seriously, it’s as if she’s walked out of a sepia-toned past.

Naturally, as before, Haley is not the only American Idol alum making waves with the group: Fellow Season 10 finalist Casey Abrams has smashed it on a variety of covers for the channel, including a New Orleans style version of “I’m Not the Only One” by Sam Smith. Meanwhile, Season 8 finalist Von Smith has done multiple covers himself, most recently doing a Grease-style version of “Style” by Taylor Swift alongside vocalist Annie Goodchild. This channel is frigging amazing, and deserves WAY more subscribers than the (admittedly massive) 1,000,000+ they’ve got.

This is fantastic for her cause, charting again . While I enjoy what she has done with PMJ I am really more excited about how this could be a spring board for her and her new EP release. She is out there now in a bigger way than she has been in a few years and new people are noticing her, old fans that have moved on are now getting excited again. People are buying her music and many more now more know that voice (one of a kind that we all love). She has really has honed her skills and it shows. I couldn't be happier for her.

'American Idol' Alum Haley Reinhart Covers 'LoveFool' With Postmodern Jukebox

American Idol season 10 alum Haley Reinhart has teamed up once more with Postmodern Jukebox for another interpretation of a '90s classic. Decked out in a pretty red dress, the Wheeling, Illinois, vocalist wraps her jazzy vocals around "Lovefool" by The Cardigans.


Reinhart -- who also recorded a torch-song rendition of Radiohead's "Creep" with Postmodern Jukebox -- recently joined the United Air Force Band of the Golden West on May 14 for the first night of their seven-day Southern California tour at the Valley Performing Arts Center, located on the California State University of Northridge campus. She will be making her voice-over debut portraying a boy named Bill on F Is for Family, a Netflix animated series produced by Vince Vaughn, Peter Billingsly and Michael Price.

The 24-year-old singer is preparing to release a new EP this summer and is currently on tour with Postmodern Jukebox until June 23.
