Mad World has passed 7 million views. While it took 7.5 months for the song to move from 3 to 5 million views, it only took 4 months to go from 5 to 7 million.
Puddles just advanced to the live shows on AGT. The first time he sang Chandelier and this the second he sang All By Myself. Puddles has some much stronger songs he can do compared to ABM and I imagine he'll go big next time since the novelty aspect is wearing off.
One of the spinoffs from his AGT appearances is that people are finding their way to Mad World. Lots of people. And they are they are looking for the big clown. So, what do they think of the sprightly Haley popping out as they start to tear up for Puddles' sad rendition?

For me that doesn't mean an intense infatuation. I would rather stick with "She has a voice that can make a grown man weep." When singing she has a very nice High and Low tone voice. Attraction for tone of voice is varied by preference. If you find both her high and low tones attractive then that is probably a good reason for being more attractive then usual. Especially if you weep. I myself would be attracted if this was only audio also so I don't feel it is her hips. lol

My take is that Puddles is not broadly "famous" and the show probably counts on the notion that the majority of its viewers do not know him. Ultimately they are interested in ratings, not self imposing rules that restrict who they can put on. Puddles is has a gimmick and singing talent -- so he is a good fit.
I saw that the video had crossed over the 7 million mark and checked it out. The increased view rate, along with the comments indicate a new set of viewers are coming to the video. This group are inclined to like Puddles when they come, but they get Haley as a bonus.

Both Puddles videos on my channel w/ Haley are in my top 10 viewed videos in the last month, Mad World at 4th w/ 23,637 views and Royals in Chicago is 6th w/ 13,232 views.
