Point is, it may still have life.... and nothing has indicated the reason why it's not released, why are we assuming it's 'bad' and that it's because of Haley it hasn't been released? There is zero evidence of either lol
All you've shown is fans still disapprove of SMYM which has nothing to do with my point that as a business, Ole and Haley, as a business woman, were able to make money from a product she created of her own volition, and through the commercialization, Haley's voice and brand are being heard.#Exposure
Timing and utility are factors in Ole's game, Haley works for Ole, she has proven that even with 'failures' she is still productive and an asset.
PS...it's been almost 3 years so probably no big deal to say...at the Hotel Cafe, I asked Haley about Youtube view count (SMYM) not including the Yahoo view counts, SMYM exclusively debuted with Yahoo.
She intimated to us that SMYM's Yahoo debut garnered over 200,000 views on the day of it's debut, that don't count towards Youtube's views...but "Oh, well, live and learn"
I think the 'lowered' view counts people were able to see on YouTube, minus the Yahoo view count, re-enforced to those who didn't like the song, that it was a failure. That opinion snow balled from there, became SMYM epitaph. "Perception is Reality".
Also, take into account how much the Yahoo SMYM was shared when it debuted, Facebook, Twitter, articles...all those shares went to the Yahoo video (already 200k+ views) and NOT to youtube's SMYM..... Yahoo paid Haley a lump sum to get the ad revenue, they made $$ from SMYM debuting onYahoo.
People still point to the view count as indicating failure...how different would that be if all the initial views/shares went to YouTube instead of Yahoo??
Haley left it up to us whether to share this or not, for whatever reason, we decided that Haley preferred that we shouldn't
SMYM could be approaching 500k views ( a self realised, non promoted personal project) if not for the exclusive release on Yahoo that restricted it's growth on Youtube..at least the indication of it's initial popularity, views/shares.
It is my opinion that Haley chose to take the lump money from Yahoo for exclusive release rather than invest more money and resources to self promote...in the short term, she got money up front, didn't have to worry about promoting and piracy*, in the long run, it hurt SMYM's overall status, 'a failure'.
*(she made zero effort to promote SMYM's iTunes, which reenforces the theory that she had no interest selling the iTunes units nor charting, radio play....perhaps due to a negative perspective of the whole industry/pirating, putting effort and finances she didn't have into promoting would be a losing effort, better to take Yahoo's money and not deal with it)
She made a gamble to get money up front, thus her "Oh well, live and learn" comment....
Haley has said herself, she's also a business woman, this was a lesson she appeared to need to learn to inform her future decisions...remember, she's adamant about learning, you can't learn if you make no mistakes

@HaleysTusk Sowwy Tusk! It's been a busy week. Got my business woman hat on. I'm sure I'll see you soon, hope you had a lovely trip!
For perspective, Haley's "Iconic" introduction to Irvin Mayfield in New Orleans filmed by Casey in 2011.... 155,000 views...
