It was a packed house tonight at The Hotel Cafe. The venue is pretty small, mostly standing room only. I was able to work my way fairly close to the front, and did manage to record a few songs. Haley joined in for most of their very short set, and they all sounded great as usual. I have always wanted to hear Haley sing a Cream cover, and tonight I got my wish. Here's Sunshine Of Your Love:

Didn't Haley do this number during S10 auditions? But they couldn't use it because they let her use recorded accompaniment?

With all of the success Haley has earned in the past year, it's nice to see that she still enjoys playing at the smaller venues. Hopefully she will do some more gigs at Hotel Cafe since Room 5 has closed.

Jimi and Lulu. Even though he got banned from the BBC because he refused to perform with her on her show. It's amazing footage. He was slated to play 'Hey Joe' which he began with an unexpected, feedback driven intro. He cut 'Hey Joe' short and went into 'Sunshine..' because of Cream's break up. Producers were telling him to stop but he kept going until they cut him off the air. You can hear him say in a jovial manner, 'We're being put off the air!' And in the footage you see him playful dismiss what were efforts by the producers to coerce him into ceasing to play 'Sunshine..' It's amazing and inspiring.

FYI tangent:Lulu was HUGE in the UK, her biggest hit, a song she sang and co starred in Sidney Poitier's movie "To Sir With Love"

She would later marry one of the Gibb Brothers, Maurice of the Bee Gee's... One of UK's "Pop Royalty" couples
