Watching Idol tonight. Watched also last night for the first time in a number of years. I think the duet format is going to lend itself to Haley getting some very nice exposure. For most of the duets this evening, the returning Idol has been the dominant singer, but the best performances were when the contestant was more evenly matched to the returning Idol. Really hoping Haley gets paired with a contestant that has some serious singing chops (no faint-hearted singers apply). If that happens, we could get some real FIREWORKS on the Idol stage.

One Idol and contestant sang a Stones tune. Do we have even a prayer for a reprise of Zeppelin? Her outfit in the pic would match. Would be awesome. Personally, I hope she does get to sing CHFIL, as it would showcase a different side of her (as as been pointed out already) and she might get a kick in sales and airplay from it.

I do hope that she is paired with people who have some experience singing -- this early in the season a lot of them are quite raw and the duets are a real challenge. It appears that the songs were ones that the mentor idol had performed on the show. If that is the case, Bennie is clearly a possible song choice. I'd like to see Baby It's You.

I was thinking What Is and What Should Never Be would be a great reprise as well. I also hope she gets paired with someone extraordinary. Like you've both noted, either the returnees blew away the contestants, or there was some real magic on the stage--that performance of Summertime with Fantasia was amazing! I'm assuming Jordan will do I who have nothing if they do it.

... spoilers just revealed that one of the Idols Haley dueted w/ didn't make it through ...let's hope the other one did or that might mean no Haley next week :/

Jenn was raised in Orem, Ut where I now reside. I knew nothing about her until Idol so I did a little checking. She is a big fan of Alicia Keys, could that mean "Fallin" perhaps. Jenn has a powerful voice she and Haley should complement each other quite well. She also has a little song writing ability as well. She wrote this...

I WAS EXTREMELY SHOCKED THAT STEPHANY NEGRETE DIDN'T MAKE IT. And Emily deserved a chance for America's vote. None of the girls they kept interested me except Sonika Viad. What were the judges thinking? I was expecting a wardrobe malfunction with the loose wraps Lauren & Fantasia were wearing. I was ready to tell Lauren "Get a room!" with her flirting with MacKenzie. Fantasia & LaPorsha spooked me with their performance.

I've seen that black skirt Haley is wearing a few times. I guess the reason the judges vote this round instead of America is that America might be voting more for the Idol Stars performance rather than the contestants. In Haley's case I'm sure her duet partner would have made it thru easy if America voted.
