Haley appearing on Idol - Feb 18 2016

Haley has said she sang CHFIL on Idol and it looks like the song with Adam could be that. I was confused by her statement that she performed that song, since it seems that all the songs used in duets were ones that the mentor idol had performed on the show previously. However, I notice that Scotty sang See You Tonight for one of his duets, which was a song he released in 2013. So the precedent is there for non-idol songs, which makes me feel better.

More of the "Idol Drama" which has always turned me off.

Yeah, she's the only AI alum that wast shown in this video.. They hate her but they still invited her because they know many people love her.. They invited her for the sake of ratings..

Too bad she is the only one left out. But really, she is going to be on the show which is really cool. I can't wait to see her on TV again (not watching Idol) ...

It's great Haley was invited given how many Idols they had to pick from, but this does seem a bit of a slight. And not that smart.

I started to get angry when I saw this and then realized it wasn't worth it. It's amazing that she'll even be on given the lack of respect they give her. I haven't watched the show in a couple of years but my wife watches it and when I heard Haley would be coming back, I watched a few episodes to familiarize myself with the Top 24. Really a pretty lackluster group except for La Portia. A couple of the top 10 choices from last week, Thomas Stringfellow and Jeneve, are just comical. It's too bad, but AI is going out with a fizzle instead of a bang.

Yes, it appears there's an oversight with Haley, yet again from Idol...BUT she is on the show, a 2nd runner up, when there are season winners that aren't on the show (or runner ups) that could've been invited.

Yes, she appears to have been paired w/ less than 'favorited' contestants, but if it's true what she said in a recent interview, she gets to sing Can't Help Falling in Love on the show....well, IMO that's a "WIN". Sure it would be nice if the person she was paired with wins the competition, but the show is spiraling to an underwhelming end, a shadow of it's once dominating self....who will remember who wins this season? What's important is the exposure for CHFIL coupled with her beginning a radio tour promoting the song

Yes, she's missing from the promo, but if there's anything apparent about how the media looks at Haley in interviews, on these promotional tours, "Haliens" have an impact in promotion. We should see a pretty nice social media response from Haliens, dormant Haliens, fans of Idol, fans of CHFIL...... Haley will create her own exposure


There was a time I'd be irate at the perceived 'snub', but I've learned my lesson, Haley's "que sera sera" ignore the negative, revel in the positive, Zen philosophy

Idol is coming to an end, it's history, Haley will get some decent exposure, come full circle, as she's said, then we move forward to a new album, a 2nd FiFF season, a tour? and what has the potential to be a long and amazing career

Haley's a better person about Idol than she should be.

I will say, better those two guys than a screecher like Gianna, who would compete with Haley. I'm kind of okay with a couple of vanilla guys singing harmony for Haley.

Another thing I learned from Haley, when you don't burn bridges, all doors remain open. What could be nothing now, could be something later, which might become significant to you in the future....

In the entertainment business, everybody knows everybody, if the 'word' is good about you, that might be enough of a tipping point for some opportunity you're unaware of, to present itself

Since the Season 10 spike in ratings the popularity show has been in steady decline. This year they are on track to be less than half what they were in 2011.

I watched them hyping Thomas Stringfellow with glowing comments for an obviously flawed performance. He is a kid and needs some constructive criticism. Or the judge's comment "I would be foolish to critique that in any way, shape or form" for La'Porsha Renae rendition of Proud Mary. She has talent and a powerful voice, but she has to change it up a little -- no meaningful feedback is a disservice to her. I see the same old Idol -- minus Haley except this week. I hope they treat her well with edits and such.

It will be exciting to see her perform CHFIL, which I anticipate will happen. I agree her partner does not have to be particularly special, they just need to not distract from Haley. She sings this week and then I imagine she is done with the show. I get the sense there are voices for, and voices against Haley in the Idol production world and that shows up in their treatment of her. Assuming they let her do her single as she has said, then it is a win for Haley.

As far as Idol goes - stick a fork in it.
