Marc Nelson talks Boyz II Men, Babyface and his new open mic event in Las Vegas
There isn't anything that Marc Nelson can't do. The multi-talented singer-songwriter, producer and actor co-founded and was apart of Boyz II Men early on, achieved success as a solo artist, penned songs for dozens of artists including Toni Braxton, Brandy, Tyrese and Babyface and was an integral member of Az Yet best known for "Last Night" and "Hard to Say I'm Sorry." He even pursued acting, appearing in numerous stage plays. He's accomplished a lot thus far, but isn't done yet. Nelson sat down with me to talk about some of his career highlights and his latest venture, An Evening with Marc Nelson every Thursday at Backstage Bar & Billiards in downtown Las Vegas.
Who are some celebrity guests that will appear on opening night?
A: I'm the host of the show and I have T-Low of R&B group Next who will co-host the show with me every week along with
Haley Reinhart from American Idol. I want this thing to grow organically. So when you're asking about celebrities, if my celebrity friends are in town that day conveniently then I'll say come on through. My emphasis is not for them to come be on stage and sing. I want them to hear about it. And then they're going to be like "Yo, Marc what's up and I'll be like come on down," so that's how I'm going to do it, mostly.
