The small label to which she was signed was absorbed into the larger Concord Records, but when her contract was up for renewal, she didn’t jump ship.

“I like them,” she says of the Concord staff. “They really are champions of me exploring, which is not something that most record labels want to invest in.” She acknowledges that she doesn’t sell as many records as bigger-name artists, “but they still treat me like I do … and that’s really priceless. Any person in a record contract will understand how profoundly special that is.”

In the podcast interview Haley did with Josh Wolf, she talked about how she and her different co-writers produced the songs on "Better." Because they varied so much, she re-recorded them using live instruments to give the songs a common element.

One reason I'm very much looking forward to hearing the new album is because the songs will have a common theme ("homage to the 60s") and be produced by a single team. I expect it will have a cohesiveness and the sound might appeal more to her PMJ following.

Found this in a story about an album called "Hello Tomorrow" that Dave Koz released in 2010:

John Burk, longtime producer for Concord Records, was also an important part of the team. “He was kind of like the big idea guy and he kept us focused on the mission statement of this album,” explains Koz. “We basically worked on all that together—what this album was to be. It made the decision-making process a lot easier. Every little decision was put through that sieve of: Does this fulfill our mission statement of what this album is supposed to be?”

A day at the Village — how L.A.'s legendary record studio cleaned up its act and survived the YouTube age

It’s more than fate that has brought Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie to Studio D, the recording suite inside this one-time Masonic temple. It is history.

“It’s almost eerie, you know?” Buckingham says. “Almost too familiar in a strange way… A time warp. You walk into the bathroom, the tiles are the same. Everything.”

“Stopped in time,” echoes McVie, sitting on a couch next to him.

Buckingham and McVie, together to make their first duet album after decades of Fleetwood Mac collaborations, have returned to the Village Recorder, now called Village Studios, the same place where four decades ago they made their 1979 double album “Tusk.”

...“Tusk” devotees know that across a year of work, Fleetwood Mac made Studio D its clubhouse during the album’s extended, expensive and drug-fueled gestation.

The Village is home to a vintage Neve 8048 console as well as two Neve 88R consoles. The Village is renowned for its extensive inventory of vintage microphones and outboard gear. The Village also has Oscar Peterson's Steinway & Sons Model A, which Peterson used extensively from the 1940s through the 1980s.
