I think it has the potential to be a really special moment for me. And it has to be, because... it's the Top 3 3rd album, and it's a big deal.

I'm confident it's going to sound great. My biggest concern is the songwriting content. Is there something that's going to capture the public's attention?

It sounds like the album is going to have a number of covers of old songs on it, along with some original material. I think this is a good approach. We know Haley is consistently able to bring new life to old songs and I expect she will have some awesome covers on the album. A least one of these is likely to blow people away, independent of the original material, and that should draw attention to the album as a whole. For many some of these songs from the 60s will be new and her take on them will be fresh. I see that as a base, and hopefully she will have some kickass new stuff too, which will stand on its own.

I also think having many covers is a smart approach.

I've loved Haley's original material...but she's a young person with decades to write ahead. We'll hear more in the long term with financial success in the nearer term.

It would be useful for her to build a fortune (small or large) and, even more, get some more notoriety ... notoriety that she can leverage into more invitations to write songs for designated purposes, be able fill venues, perhaps even larger venues on future tours and

... maybe get more people listening to the songs she writes herself if they listen to her covers. (spotify etc will work like that.. plug in her name for a cover, and they'll also mix in other of her songs I believe)

The covers offer another avenue of getting airplay. It's certainly an approach worth a try. Her one gold level sales success came with the cover of CHFIL ... a business person has to look at what's been working and be sure to keep doing it.

The development/promotion of this album feels weird. We're possibly six weeks from it being released and there's no word of Haley being signed or buzz from longtime collaborators. It seems too late to do photo shoots or videos for it, but we have no inkling of any being done. All we have is a picture or two credited to Casey Abrams' longtime videographer, Monika Lightstone. If that's all we get, it smacks very much of a do-it-yourself project. But Haley began promoting the album on social media a few weeks ago by posting, weekly, extensive playlists of songs that served as inspiration. That suggests a degree of planning (by her management team, I think). It could be the Concord Music Group is so tight-knit that tight lips are S.O.P. Or maybe they're simply old-school enough that they give little thought to social media (you won't find much on FB about John Burk or the sound engineer we identified).

London time is 5 hours ahead of the Central Time Zone I'm in. So, Haley might take over their SnapChat in five hours? (10 am their time). If she just arrived before the PMJ show, I would think there's a good chance she will be feeling jet-lagged.

I wonder if Derek Spartz is there. Or another traveling companion. I don't know what taking over their SnapChat means, but maybe she could catch some sleep between online appearances? Though I understand one approach to jet lag is just to power through without sleep until you catch up to local time.

Can't wait for the album to come out. Audio is all finished, just the necessary artwork and packaging to do now.
It's not like anything she's done so I really think people will love it.

Great! With a May album release date, any speculation of a single released earlier, something in April maybe?
