I think the same can be said of the album. A collection of covers is usually something done by stars past the prime of their careers. For Haley, it's like the ultimate demo tape. It needs to be great from start to finish. The goal has to be for music afficianados to put on the LP and just let it play.
Astute points. If the Light My Fire bonus track IS true, then it will be just one more example of Haley stepping out where no one expected, and taking on the really big challenge. Singing RITD while it was near the top of the charts. Singing an unreleased Lady Gaga track. The list goes on and on.... being true to herself, following HER instincts, and going it alone (without a label) for so long.
Light My Fire isn't just a great and popular song-- it's one of the most iconic and influential songs of the 60's. Sung by a man, taken far, far too early, and with an very distinctive (and identifiable) voice. Covering it would be incredibly 'ballsy' for Haley (at this point in her career), and I LOVE the idea. Let's hope it's true, because we know she would knock it out of the park. IF true, then Concord will be showing a lot of faith in Haley, and the entire record is probably going to be remarkable. IF true there's no song Haley could cover that I would be anticipating more.

She mentioned the Mamas and Pappas version specifically in the FB chat.
This is one of the songs on Haley's album that features Scott Bradlee. From the beginning this rendition of the song is certainly something Scott could have fun with. That piano is going to have a vintage sound I think.
Scott plays on Oh Darling! I don't think it will sound like this.
