How odd the police did such a thorough investigation initially and Haley was the only one arrested.

Given the seriousness of the incident, I'm guessing that much of investigation was conducted by detectives in the days after. There were a lot of people in the video, perhaps a lot of the initial investigate involved getting names and contact information for follow up. Haley was arrested perhaps because the Lamplighter, who likely initiated the police response, wanted her charged.

I read that wrong. Because of the paragraph's opening sentence, I thought it was the police explaining what they did the night of Haley's arrest. That they were called out for unwanted subjects, but then investigated the allegation of Haley assaulting someone.

The bar's video surveillance and cellphone video "clearly depicts" Sobanski choking the man, whose face becomes discolored, Gates said.

...Mark Brown, Chislof's attorney, said in an email that "there's no evidence in the video that any bouncers tried to separate Sobanski from the victim while he was choking him."

Prosecutors say Sobanski admitted to a history of "being physical" and prior episodes of choking bar patrons. He also told authorities he had been demoted due to previous behavior.

I stopped going to this shit place because of the bouncers. What place that can hold 100 people at max if even that, needs 5-6 fucking bouncers? I think Haley could have avoided court by hiring a local lawyer (since it's a misdemeanor). Wonder if her appearance is an indication she intends to contest the charges. If so, I hope she has representation. This would have been a good time for her to wear sunglasses.
