The Chicago portion of “The X Factor” auditions aired Wednesday night, and while the production team spent several wet days in April and May looking for talent at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates, there was precious little to show for it.

...the standout of the Chicago auditions had to be Josh Krajcik. The sloppy-looking 30-year-old burrito maker had his mom drive him up from Columbus, Ohio, but, boy, did he deliver.

Krajcik simply killed Etta James’ “At Last,” showing off his raspy, growly chops and driving the crowd crazy and stunning the usually unflappable judge Simon Cowell.

“I always thought I wouldn’t be surprised again, Cowell said. “It always blows me away. You’re honest.”

Krajcik will be one to watch when the boot camp episodes begin next week.

As for local talent, there wasn’t much to see, but there’s always hope that there’s another Haley Reinhart or Lee DeWyze who didn’t a ton of screen time but is waiting to shine.

Agreed. There is little reality in reality TV.

Agreed. I really like Elliott Yamin, though. He just doesn't have the pzzaz(sp?) Haley has. I will give Elliott credit, he was on the Haley bandwagon before I was.

Yup and i guess im kind of a Haley fanatic, but i have waited for a long time for a female singer to be able to produce a wide range of music, And not the pop crap that has to be auto tuned.She is still young and has much to learn. With the right team on her side,She will go far.The more you do something the better you get,especialy in music.It took me years to learn to play Guitar the right way. LOL and im off the subject.
