I do too and think it goes beyond her vocal abilities. I sense they don't just regard her as a pretty girl with a nice voice but respect her as an artist. That's why we see references to "her music."
Haley has a great voice and great musical sensibilities. She has gotten props from a number of musicians that she played with.
Go to the Facebook page for Roland Gajate Garcia, percussionist out front on RITD, and you'll find that of the 23 photos in the Idol grouping, seven are Haley with a similar number for Casey. There is one Pia, and none of the other contestants are seen. He has a few wall photos that show him posing with individual contestants Haley, Casey, James, and Paul.

Of course, he recently played with Casey at the Vegas benefit (and I wonder if he might play on Casey's album).
Irvin Mayfield invites her to sing with him at Carnegie Hall.
Tweets during the season. Etc.
For myself, anticipating Haley's music takes me back, since it has been a long time since I awaited a recording by anybody. I recall, beginning after I achieved a degree of musical sentience as a youngster, awaiting releases by bands -- particularly the Beatles.* With the Beatles you never knew what was coming but you knew it would be good. They would disappear into the studio and some time later release music that was fresh and different, while retaining the Beatles sound. Now, I'm not trying to compare Haley with the Beatles but she has the ability to go in different directions and put her own sound on a song. Even though she is just getting started I believe she has the pipes but also the taste and creativity to be a great artist. She has "it" musically and many sense that.
I think that insiders like Nigel, Simon, and the like lose sight of some of the essence of greatness. They are too focused on industry constructs like X-Factors aimed at selling records, cross promotions, overseas sales, blah, blah and they miss what others, such as those focused on making music see. Shows like Idol seem to confuse some near term marketing appeal with something more. I think Haley outgrew Idol during the season, and ultimately stands way above it. While some (who were part of the show or just watching it) were caught up in memes like "Haley needs to find her lane" or "she's got a bad attitude" or "I can't stand all that growling," she was in the midst of an explosive growth curve and blew right by them. She left the show and many detractors in the dust. **
When the Beatles*** emerged from the studio, in addition to music they also would often have a new look: different clothes, different hair, etc relative to the last time they were in the public eye. And they would set trends. Haley has the potential to do the same. (This is where she is so different than other Idol contestants, say Stephano, who want to be part of the established trend.)

(yes, I know) And like it often seems when she sings, she can do this effortlessly.
* no equivalence to the Beatles implied
** "Jimmy played me a song for Haley’s record yesterday. Let’s hope all the people that are professing love buy it.... " Screw you Nigel.
