I wondered about them dropping the range a octive, but than Haley would have to go into a lower range,And she doesn't have that good of a lower regester eather.Thats not her strong point.But it all works out good.

No, Haley would not have had to sing an octave lower. The point would have been to get the part sung by the guy to sound like a guy. As it is, there is virtually no distinction (regarding range) between the two of them. You are correct -- it works out OK, and ultimately I will have to get used to it, if I am to listen and enjoy it.

It did sound better after letting it rest a day and coming back to it. I think that was because I just listened to it casually without trying to pick up the interplay. Listening to it in that fashion, Haley's voice stands out more and Casey's become more like filler. That makes it seem more like Haley is talking to herself than Casey is trying to seduce her.

Okay, so I have been over at Idol Forums reading the posts and many of the posters are upset about the idea of a continuing Haley/Casey collaboration. Many of them think Casey has no talent as a songwriter and will drag Haley down.

My personal thoughts are that it takes both lyrics & melody to make a good song. Casey writes the melodies, Haley writes the lyrics. To me this could turn out to be a match made in heaven. Who knows what may happen. I think their friendship is heartwarming & I think they are both very talented. I believe we are watching the unfolding of two great artists. Together or separately, Haley & Casey have a bright future...

Yeah, there sure is a lot of back and forth on that. Ultimately I respect the fact that Haley is quite comfortable working with Casey and wants their collaboration to continue. Their performance of Moanin' on AI was awesome by any standard and very professional. Casey is not some bum she found in the park, he has talent, and they have chemistry. I'm fine with that. Haley's been working with a number of songwriters recently, and she may click with some and not with others. But she already has a bit of a track record with Casey and I see nothing wrong with him being in the mix.

I don't know if Casey will ultimately be a help or a hindrance to Haley's professional career. I do know if Haley was my daughter and she had just moved 2,000 miles away to record her first album, I would find it comforting to know she has good friends there that share her interests.

Their performance of Moanin' on AI was awesome by any standard and very professional.

I can't claim to have watched a lot of duets in my life, but I think that was the best one I have seen -- and it was done live!
