Moving Pictures instructor
Ph.D. and M.A. degrees in Social Relations/Social Anthropology from Harvard University and a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of California, Los Angeles. He is currently a faculty member at the Idyllwild Arts Academy where he teaches in the Moving Pictures Department, along with serving as Institutional Director of ScriptEd Only Screenwriting Conservatory, a distance learning screenwriting program. Ira is a member of the Producers Guild of America and serves as President, Board of Directors of CineStory, a national non-profit screenwriter’s organization. He has been a Visiting Professor of Film and Television at Chapman University, Chair and Professor, Department of Film and Video at Columbia College in Chicago, IL, Associate Professor of Radio-Television-Film at the University of Texas, Austin and a visiting faculty member at the Instituto Tecnologico, Monterrey, Mexico, the International Film and Television Workshops, Oaxaca, Mexico and Rockport, Maine, and the University of Manchester, England. As a professional filmmaker, Ira is president of Xaibe Productions, Inc. which produces series for broadcast and educational use. He has been a series producer for Chicago Tomorrow, WTTW Public Television, Chicago and executive producer for many educational and documentary films and television productions.

Apparently he is recording in London --and digging AI, which Haley seems to be enjoying too. It is probably fun to be able to relax and just be a spectator with the added element of watching others go through the things they experienced last year.

Indeed he may. Given how he duplicates himself (many times over) on his videos, this might be a good, or at least useful, solution for him in live performances.

I enjoyed listening to this. I agree with Casey -- she's talented.

Just a reference to the old grunge music scene in Seattle. I think some of Casey's fans call them selves lumberjacks. The lumberjack look can still work in Seattle.

Laundrette owner wins £1 million recording contract

Lucinda Belle, 36, worked as a backing singer and harpist for Williams and is now being compared to Norah Jones and Madeleine Peyroux.

Miss Belle is putting her family cleaning business up for sale to concentrate on her debut album which is released in May through Universal.

The launderette - Laundamatic in Balham High Street, south London - has been in her family for 40 years.

Miss Belle has already recorded and toured with the Pet Shop Boys, Rufus Wainwright and Annie Lennox, but her fortunes changed when Fearne Cotton spotted her playing with Williams at the BBC Electric Proms last year.

The Radio 1 DJ invited Miss Belle on to her show, which brought her to the attention of music giant Universal, which also has Take That, Cheryl Cole and Amy Winehouse on the books, and she signed for £1.25 million.

Her first release will feature her eight-piece band, The Lucinda Belle Orchestra - comprising the unusual line-up of harp, harmonium, melodica, strings, horns, double bass, drums, ukulele, clarinet and guitar.

The jazz harpist and singer-songwriter said she would continue as a part-time singing teacher, despite landing the record deal.

She said: ''The launderette has been in my family for 40 years and was passed down to me by my grandfather, but I don't think I'm going to have time to be there anymore.

''This is what I really want to do. As long as I can remember I've been trying to get a record deal.

''It's not a good time for running a launderette anyway. The price of gas has gone up so it's a hard time for the business.

''But I do love it. It's been hard making the decision to sell. It feels like an heirloom.''

Miss Belle, from West London, has played the harp since the age of six.
