I was looking at Paul Rodgers twitter home page and observed that he has not made tweets praising other artists, even obliquely. He has only been on twitter since February, and only follows nine people -- Casey being one of them. So, I'm inclined to see it as a compliment. I wish I had some idea what Casey songs performed -- he can go in a lot of different directions.

Thanks for sharing that John. I definitely see it as complimentary, knowing the background.

MAE - I can see how Paul Rodger's tweet could be seen as kind of ambiguous, but I doubt that was his intention. He chose Casey (I assume) to open for him, then gave him a shout out and followed him on twitter. All that stuff helps Casey. It helps Paul too because it's likely that some of Casey's fans will get more interested in his music as well.

I agree w/ you that Casey seems to be really good at attracting other musicians to him. He's very talented & he also has an amiable personality, and seems very willing to help lesser known musicians than himself build their fanbase. That's one thing that goes a long way in getting yourself established in the music community outside of the Idol bubble... Opening for Paul Rodgers does too.

Haley & Casey both have done well getting themselves connected in the music industry IMO. I think their careers are going to get more & more interesting to watch over (at least) the next few years.

All good points, Camden! Actually, I have more patience regarding the careers of both. If it takes almost 10 years for a Spencer Day or a group like Lake Street Dive to garner attention, then a few years for Haley or Casey is fine with me. I think most "overnight successes" usually flame out rather quickly (and, hopefully, the "Biebs" will soon prove that)!

I checked on the YT status of one of Casey's songs of unrequited love, Get Out. This one has been very popular in parts of northern and central Europe, especially the Keeno Remix version.

In it's various mixes and uploads, the song now has well over seven million listens on YouTube.

I love this song as well (and I love Dry Spell too, Rachel!) Casey put out a really good debut CD.

Thoughts on the above vids: Regarding the first one, I was really glad I was sitting down (such was my shock!), because Casey was wearing a tie!

Regarding the second video, I have a couple thoughts. First, I hope that someday Casey will be able to overcome his debilitating shyness . Secondly, not only do his band mates have to be excellent musicians, they have to vigilant every nano second, to keep up with whatever outrageous stunt Casey might pull. At some point, he might wear out their souls.

The woman playing the sax is Jessy J. She was a special guest of Casey that evening and joined in for a couple of songs. Casey's parents were in the audience that night, maybe that is why he dressed up a bit.
