A contestant on "American Idol" will be kicked off the show Wednesday because the singer concealed multiple crimes from producers ... TMZ has learned.

Sources connected with the show tell us ... the contestant -- one of the final 12 -- was charged with 2 crimes in 2011, one involving violence. We're told in both cases the contestant gave a fake name to cops when arrested.

In addition, we're told the contestant has outstanding warrants -- again, the singer concealed it from producers.

If true, has something like this happened before? If so, how does Idol handle announcing (or not announcing) why Singer X is missing on the next live show?

Vote For The Worst says Jermaine tweeted he would no longer be on the show but then deleted it. He seems pretty casual about it, so he might have been responding to something someone said to him on Twitter. i.e. it may not be what it seems.

Yeah...if I had to guess, I would guess Jermaine. Did anyone notice how he was sticking his head right next to Jessica's when the top 24 was being whittled down to 13? He gave me the creeps.

So I guess everybody else will all automatically be safe?

Very apparently Idol doesn't screen their contestants beforehand. You'd think that when it gets down to about the Top 40 they would go ahead and hire someone to screen them, but obviously they don't. Maybe after this they will learn a lesson.

By the way, I was sorry it wasn't Jermaine that got voted off last week instead of Jeremy.

Heejun doesn't have a 1st tier voice and he probably knows it. So maybe he just wants to use Idol to launch a career in comedy. I noticed that the will.i.am and jimmy set up before his performance did not focus at all on the song, just on his quip about getting Ferggie's phone number. His days are numbered.
