Well, someone put them on youtube, nothing we can do about it, Interscope can do something if they want.

Nobody in this group has the willpower to not watch. And just try to tell some teen they aren't supposed to watch.

After hearing those two songs I am more convinced than ever we're going to grammy-town next year.

It's extremely difficult if not impossible to get a good recording and to get good sound with nothing but a small video camera or cell phone. The sound just bounces all over the place. Acoustically the Hard Rock Cafe is not singer friendly. If it was done live at least they would've had mixers to heighten the quality of the sound and Haley's voice. Definitely looking forward to the album and single.

Even the best singers sound like crap when the acoustics are poor. I, too, am looking forward to the album.

My summary of "Free's" lyrics on MJsBB:

It seems the lyrics are about a woman in an off-and-on affair with a man she was once in a long-term relationship with. The bigger theme is that they should both let go to pursue true love. With full accompaniment, I could see this song getting a lot of airplay. It sounds like a classic.

Idol junkies, the time has finally come!

Haley Reinhart, that jazzy flower child, that little growler who could, that scatting singer who stepped onto the American Idol stage in Season 10 and miraculously survived near-constant critiques from J.Lo and Randy to eke out a third place finish, has debuted her first post-Idol single, “Free,” live on stage, and you know you want to give it a listen.

...Back in November, when I asked Reinhart what kind of sound we could expect from her debut album, she described it as, “soul and R&B mixed, with some jazziness in there,” adding, “You can hear the retro-ness, but it definitely has a modern twist.” Judging by this low-quality video, it seems that Reinhart has successfully achieved that melding of genres with “Free.”

Personally, I dig the song. (At least this acoustic version.) It’s a welcome reprieve from the bland, over-produced pop that singing-competition alums often serve up with their first singles (see: Katharine McPhee’s “Over It,” Cher Lloyd’s “Swagger Jagger,” Adam Lambert’s “For Your Entertainment,” Committed’s “Break Free,” or, arguably, Pia Toscano’s “This Time”). The lovely, sloping melodies of the chorus show off Reinhart’s impressive range — she makes what could be a difficult song to sing sound effortlessly smooth.

I have to admit the first time I heard free I was not really impressed. I just knew something was missing didn't take long to realize that a full band was missing, and after the third time that I listen to it I was hooked. There are some songs you hear for the first time that hits you between the eyes and before the second verse comes along the song settles in your soul. With Haley it's a little different there are some songs that you have to listen to a few times. But once you've listened to them it's hard to get it out of your head. Yeah the acoustics were really bad the vocals were pumped through maybe the house speakers and being accompanied by a piano doesn't leave really much room for musical quality. But that's all going to change as soon as her single comes out we will notice night and day something of a studio perfected song that's been mixed and mastered professionally. Then we will be a will to hear the musical essence of Ms. Reinhardt. But then again we already know what she's capable of.
