I think at this point any appearances are part of a promotional effort. 34,000 people are expected to attend the show and some of them might prove influential.

Well the Fox visit put a temporary, but only temporary kabosh on this. Looks like you read all the clues properly, because it looks like an NCB event was the other half of the reason or perhaps even the real reason for the visit to Vegas. (Assuming this gig was for NCB).

It was probably a corporate gig. And it's certainly possible TouchTune is the sponsor, even probable given they hired an idol the year before. But I wonder if it might not be related to an event more open to the public like:

"Happy Hour: Blondies, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino | 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM"

given they brought the full band.
