Quote: Haley Reinhart Announces ‘Listen Up!’ Track Listing, Performs on ‘Conan’
by: Scott Shetler 31 minutes ago
19 Recordings / Interscope
We’re only a month away from the release of Haley Reinhart‘s debut album ‘Listen Up!,’ which arrives on May 22. The singer has released the sunny album artwork and the track listing for the record. She also performed the lead single, ‘Free’ on ‘Conan.’
‘Listen Up!’ features 14 tracks, including the lead single ‘Free,’ an appealing pop song with a retro sound. Also on the album is the next single ‘Oh My!,’ the ‘American Idol‘ Season 10 contestant’s collaboration with rapper B.o.B.
Reinhart previously told PopCrush she co-wrote every song on the album except ‘Free.’ She said, “If I’m inspired or if I just actually take the time to sit down and write, it’s very easy for me. So it was really pretty easy to get so many songs so quickly because I was actually given every day to get down in the studio with a different person and create something different. But I actually wrote and recorded each song on one day — it was very quick.”
‘Listen Up!’ is available now as a pre-order on Amazon for $10. Here’s the full track listing, courtesy of Idolator.

1. ‘Oh My!’ Featuring B.o.B.

Midnight.. I hear ya, but marketing is everything and B.o.B has a mega fan base that most of whom might not ever give Haley a looksee if not for the B.o.B collaboration. I actually think that it's a brilliant move by Interscope.. and once Haley has all of those ears, her talent and who she is will have shined upon all of those fans too. I think it's win win for Haley..

Does anyone else have a bad feeling about "Oh my"? I dont know, but I just feel like I won't like that song too much because of the rapping Depends what kind it is....if it's just fast talking that would be ok, but if it is like "hard core rap" then I wont like it. I'm sure tho that once I hear Haley's beautiful voice the song will get better, but we'll just have to wait and see what happens.
Btw, don't tell Haley I said this...don't wanna hurt her feelings.
And Haley, if you do see this, don't worry....all your songs are AMAZING and I'll always love you no matter what <3

RE: Popcrush interview/article
I want to hear this song because Haley said that it had the sound of a James Bond kind of music...and for some reason I´ve always liked those, from Shirley Bassey "Goldfinger" to Sheena Easton "For your eyes only" and Tina Turner "Golden eye". I even liked Duran Duran "A view to a kill", so my guess is since I really don´t like rap...I will be longing to have a version of Oh my! without B.o.B.
But, if it helps to bring a broader audience to Haley´s album...it´s just fine with me...I´ll learn to like it. LOL!!!!

Opps oH WELL I just tweeted Haley and told her but she's not mad.. Just kidding. I understand how you feel about about the rapping as I just made a big deal about it in my previous post. I don't think it'll be hard-core kinda like gangster rap or anything of that nature, it might be subtle it might not be. Were just have to wait and see. But like I said I hope people are not going one to listen to this particular song for the wrong reason and that is just to listen to their favorite rapper talk HIS SHIT.

RE: Popcrush interview/article
I, for one, am excited about "Oh My" - even the rap portion! They could have chosen to feature B.o.B. on almost any track on the album to raise Haley's profile, but the fact that they chose "Oh My" indicates that they feel it is the best song on the album in it's own right. If they are going to put an established rapper's reputation on the line, they are going to put their best foot forward. And, if this song is any better than the hit-worthy "Now that You're Here" and "Hit the Ground Runnin'", then I think we are looking at a mega hit. Haley has described the song as having a "James Bond" style, so I can kind of see where she is going with it, and I do believe I will LOVE it! It will probably be epic sounding and feature a lot of horns.
I normally roll my eyes when pop singers collaborate with rappers because I think it's a trend that has been overdone lately. But, I think bringing B.o.B. into a more retro-jazz format will be new and different. I vaguely know B.o.B. from "Nothing on You" and "Airplanes." He is not a "gangster" rapper. In fact, he has a smooth cadence and rhythm - almost like a soul singer. His rapping is more like rap-singing, so maybe it will work cohesively after all. However, I do hope they issue a version without the rap for the fans who just want to hear Haley. And, if they don't, I hope the rap doesn't replace a portion of the song that Haley would have otherwise sung, or interrupt the flow of the song.
On another note, the collaboration will raise Haley's profile tremendously - that is, if they promote it (music video, live performances together, etc.). On top of that, B.o.B. apparently has a new album coming out in early may, so his profile will be bigger than ever! As if that wasn't enough, his new album will feature collaborations with Taylor Swift, Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, T.I., Nicki Minaj, Ryan Tedder, and Trey Songz. Hopefully all of these collaborations will give B.o.B. a boost, and in turn, raise Haley's profile even more.
And if you end up not liking the song, take comfort in the fact that, if it is successful, it will likely give Haley a lease to make even more music in the future.
