Stefano Langone Reveals S10 Romance, Poor Pay for Summer Tour

Ha ha ha ha. Stefano Langone lets it totally out of the bag that he and Pia Toscano were “close” during the Season 10 competition in this interview with the Johnjay and Rich radio show.

No joke, he TOTALLY USED AIR QUOTES around the word “close” when describing his relationship to Pia at the time she was eliminated....[...I was on a roll...]

“Did you get dumped for Mark Ballas?” the DJ asks. “I guess…right?” says Stefano. “It is what it is.” These days, rumor has it that Stefano is dating another season 10 alum, Haley Reinhart.

Thanks for the post. It's an interesting interview. I felt it was an honest interview from Stafano.

Gotta admit, I'm loving the video. A lot of fun, and he doesn't take himself to seriously. The Hobo Casey moment was hilarious!

I think I understand the concept they were going for, but poorly executed.

No reflection on Stefano this time, I thought the editing was poor, and for the type of video /'story' they were going for, maybe be more creative with the camera angles, maybe more close ups, vary the depth of field a bit. Too many mid range shots, which gives it a sameness kind of feel. I don't know, it seemed they played it too safe and standard for what this song, and it's story needed.

Most of the vid is a 'fantasy' sequence so It wouldn't have been a bad idea to maybe have a little more color saturation, colors that pop, a gloss on the images, a slickness. So when 'Stefano' comes back to the reality of his situation in the video, the look could be a little 'dirtier', grittier' to contrast against the gloss of his dream sequence.

Something about the camera angles and depth they did use, seemed to emphasise his 'stature'. In many of the scenes he appeared to be the shortest actor on the set, and the jumping around on the bed with feathers re-enforced a kind of child-like perception.

It reminded me a little of Pia's debut video, standard shot ranges, minimal editing imagination. Except it was appropriate for Pia's song. OAR either needed to chose an 'edgier' direction or a more "fun" one, instead they decided to do both or neither and played it safe and standard.

I realise the point of the video is Stefano is not taking himself too seriously, and to show that he's an every day man and in his daydreams he's got it made.

It didn't feel like they showcased "Stefano" and were more interested in illustrating the 'story' rather than showcasing the talent. I think better editing and storyboarding decisions (for camera angles) would have helped alot more.

He's actually sold pretty well for a 7th place Idol who released his single over a year from elimination. "Roll" has consistently been in the iTunes Top 500, charting significantly higher than Free on a regular basis. I detest club music and that cheesy vibe, but he does seem to be making a career for himself.

Can't fault a guy for working hard at doing what he wants to do...

its no accident Stefano is making himself some chances and he might even be good at that stuff ... thankfully I don't need to watch that stuff.

'American Idol' Alum Stefano Langone Caters to Latino Fans With New Album

..."After you get off the show is thanks for coming see you later. Then they (former contestants) are back at home and a lot of people go into depression.”

“I turned down the ticket and I stayed in a motel for a few weeks,” Langone said. “You have to have an idea, and be driven because if not you are screwed.”

With a new album in the works set to debut in Sept., Langone said he plans to “give back” to his Latino fans as well, as he plans to have a few songs in Spanish.

“I wanted to give that back to my fans,” Langone said. “That’s part of what I bring. You want to connect. I’m all about being intimate. So much is about the music and the fans.”

“The Latino community is so supportive and has really embraced me,” Langone continued. “It has been such an honor. “To get that love is incredible.”

So was his "idea" to cater to Latinos by having a dual-language album? I don't buy that it's about giving back. I think he's business-minded and he thought he could leverage the Latino market to interest a label -- anything to get a deal and potentially make a name for himself.
