Miguel question: is posting spoilers allowed?

But Piesha McPhee works on the show too, so she's worked with all the Idols.

I'm worried that according to Dial Idol the girl from Alaska, Adriana, is going to knock off at least 3 girls that I would prefer over her from the top 5. She is listed as numbero uno above Angie Miller, and they show Amber, Aubrey and Janelle as the bottom three. Have we had any good contestants come from Alaska?? Sarah Palin for VP? Bristol Palin on Dancing with the Stars? I think that proves my point and hope Miguel doesn't spank me for inferring something semi-political. Are American Idol voters really that whacky and tone-deaf? Zoanette is possibly going to survive which would turn my stomach, eyeballs and eardrums inside out.

This is one time I'd like Randy Jackson to get his way and have the producers add at least 1 wildcard from the judges. At least 7 girls deserve to make it and only about 3 guys.

Are American Idol voters that wacky and tone deaf-sure alot of them are but its the judges that let someone like Zoanette(who was perfectly awful last night) get this far.We'll have to see what the voters say.

Honestly-last night I thought that vocally-that Candice Glover stood head and shoulders about the rest.

The girl from Alaska was one of the best the week before though. I actually am kind of hoping she makes it. Just a poor song choice this week.

I thought Janelle was the best chance for a girl winner, but she's not. She can't handle the big stage.

Obviously Candice, Kree, and Angela are the best singers...but I'm concerned about all three. Candice and Kree arne't exactly marketable (so I can't see TPTB wanting them to win) and Angela is from Massachusetts. Aka...she won't win.

I think Breanna is the best combination as well as the girl from Alaska...but neither one is close to Candice, Kree, and Angela. (And to be honest, no one can sing like Candice from this group.)

I've also noticed that the past two season really have spoiled me. This is a good group of singers...but the past two seasons have had so much talent that it doesn't feel that way.

I've wrote elsewhere but I really thinking that "judging" idol or any of these shows will set people up for bad reactions.

As what type of music people enjoy differs widely it would be almost irrational for a person to expect people to vote up and down the way that their tastes are.

Equallly prone to producint bitterness would be to dismiss other peoples preferences as a "popularity contest" which implies that people are voting based on who they relate to but dislike the music that that person creates. I would be more bitter if people were voting for music they wouldn't listen to themselves, but I don't think that s the case.

I think, that the way to enjoy the shows is to pick one or two of your favorites and hope to see them get to the final 2 or 3 and be able to enjoy them singing for 90% plus of the season.

It is a "who do you enjoy listenting to" contest, and I can't be bitter about what others like. I'd be almost put off if I thought my tastes were "mainstream" hence I'd think it might be a failure of my taste if the mainstream people picked my favoirte as a winner.

I think that most of you would agree that is what happens.

Whether you deside to be bitter about a predictable reality is up to you in how you set your expecations and whether you try to believe that the competitions are something they are not. They are not like an objective high school singing contest judged by a panel of 5 music teachers. They are contests that allow contestants to be chosen based upon their popularity, and intensity of popularity among the groups that will lead to a sustained commercial sales. There is nothing corrupt about that concept... the numbers have roughly panned out (with exceptions, but still with a strong correlation) that higher finishers do tend to have longer sustained popularity after the show.

Those artists that have success after the show who didn't win usually establish fan bases in different demographics than the show audience... many many of their followers wouldn't watch the show. If they appeal to people who don't like the show.. why would they win the show ?

Yeah, we did get *one* good one out of Chicago. I say ditch the politics.

I didn't even make it through the show and ended up watching some of the performances on mjs. Although a couple of them were very nice to look at (Aubrey is very pretty, and has 'the look' of a pop star IMO), the vocal performances were underwhelming.

I'm not sure if it's because Candice has been pimped so much (since her elimination last year), but she does nothing for me even if I can agree that she has the potential to win.

I'm really surprised at how utterly underwhelming Janelle Arthur was. Early on, she had all the signs of a real contender, but these last two performances, it seems like she doesn't have what it takes for the big stage.

It looks like with the performance of Colton's song, last night, Angie has put herself in the same genre/fan base as Colton, the Christian/faith based voters. Which makes me wonder if that was a reason why Colton's sister, Schyler, didn't get any screen time. Maybe they figured that two "Christian/Faith" performers was one too many in the top ten, so they chose the one that was most ready, with the most potential in Angie?

Really, no one so far does anything at all for me. At least last year there was Hollie, Elise, Jessica, heck even Skylar brought some entertainment to the stage, but this year, not even a smidgeon of a "Wow" factor for me.

I'm glad Zoanette had the train wreck she had last night so we can dispense with that issue

I have a feeling that Kree might end up being the best of this underwhelming group of women, which, IMO, opens up the door for potentially another male winner (which is not to say any of them are worth writing home about either ....)

Why does where someone lives, determine if they can or not? That doesnt make any sense!
