Joey's exit from AI makes me hurt. I recently stated that I didn't like her (vocal) tone, Her rendition of "Valentine" truly exhibited what I found annoying. I don't know whether it's a physical issue for her or that she truly doesn't know how to let her sound resonate in that nasal chamber (that can make or break you), but the key she chose for "Valentine" put her in that area wherein she couldn't win. And that makes me sad. Some of Joey's quirkiness annoyed me, but when she was "on," she was truly on. And that was something to look forward to.

In one of Mr. Slezak's post regarding AI, I'm fairly certain that I saw that he will be starting his interviews of the contestant voted off this week. In the meantime, I found this interview that Joey gave. In it, she talked about her hope to do something with Scott Bradlee and PMJ:

Joey Cook Dishes on American Idol

I loved Joey's tone, but she's just a really limited vocalist.

I'm sorry to see her go, I didn't like the Bottom 2 this week. I know some people think Rayvon can be boring, but to me, he's a representative of the old idol. When being an extremely talented vocalist is what mattered, and on the show you grew into the other aspects of being an entertainer (finding a musical identity, stage presence, charisma..)

Everyone else on the show (remaining, Sarina..although pitchy..And yes, I'm going to use pitchy Harry...has a great voice) is just so limited vocally and all we get is the "creativity." And what's worse, is that Clark and Jax don't realize how limited they are...

Not that Rayvon is amazing or anything. He's got some serious breath control issues. But he's in another league than the others.

The series hit it's peak with Season 10 when we got multiple videos per week and in depth commentary on multiple contestants.

Reducing it to one 10 minute rush job on top of trying to do two shows instead of one, does neither show or their contestants any favors

I agree. Although, I love the addition of Melinda.
